SOURCE: I have a LG W2361VG monitor and I can't get it off

These are just suggestions, not sure if it will fix your problem (not listed in any order but only do one at a time)

1. Change BIOS battery (reset BIOS)
2. Clean out machine (dust, reseat cables, cords etc...)
3. Try removing the power cord from the monitor, hold the power on button for ten seconds then put the power cord back on
4. Try reseating the video card.

Hope this helps.

Acer pc and lg monitor blank screen says power save mode on start up, anyone know how to fix this?

Actually during start-up there is a slight delay before the HDD & OS is detected by the CPU. Normally all monitors slip into power saving mode within 10 secs of inactivity of either mouse or keystroke. This inactivity is read by the monitor which promptly switches to power saving mode. However the moment the HDD LED starts blinking, the monitor wakes up & starts displaying. This power saving mode in most of the flat screens is only associated with movement of mouse or keypad. This does not register till the CPU starts up & thats why the monitor switches over to power saving mode till it starts receiving signal from the CPU.
It is a normal behaveour, so don't get worked up over it, plus you can always hit the Auto set feature on the monitor after booting the PC completely. ( I think the time out for the monitor to enter power saving mode is only 10 secs). Hope this helps.

Automatically power saving mode ...........................cpu start working..........monitor power saving mode

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if the same symptoms occur the problem is the Video Graphics Card in the computer, but if the picture is okay, it is clearly the LG Flatron that has the problem, and if possible sub the video cord from the computer to the monitor just to be sure.

Brand new (literally...just purchased today) LG E2350V remains in D SUB Power Save Mode as soon as the computer is booted up. Have attempted numerous suggestions, none solve the issue. Please do not...

First thing to do is try another monitor on that computer, because it actually sounds like the computer isn't sending a signal to the monitor.
The next thing to look for is to unplug the monitor from the PC and also from the monitor (assuming it detaches from the monitor) and look inside the sub-D shell for a bent pin.
If one of the pins IS bent over, be VERY VERY careful straightening it, because they break easy once they've been bent.
If you do break a pin, yuo will have to replace the Sub-D connector.
If you do have to replace the connector, here's the pin-outs and wire colors.
The connectors you can (or used to be able to) buy all over the place.

LG Flatron Monitor w2361v turns on, but than says that it's in power saving mode.

It is not detecting a signal from source (PC or laptop). Check video cable by subbing in a known working one. If a laptop, you may need to use a function key combo - usually ctrl-F5 to force signal to external VGA. If desktop, then verify connections are plugged in and video card is seated properly. Good luck!

I have an LG W40 Series monitor that won't come out of power saving mode when connected to my PC. I used the D-Sub connection to the monitor output on the PC. How do I get the monitor to work?

Sounds like the monitor is not getting a signal from your computer. Do you have another computer you can test it with? Sometimes if the display resolution is set too high on the computer, the monitor may not sync to that signal.

Please rate this solution to show your appreciation!

Have lg monitor flatron e2260 . Have had for about 3 weeks. Starting today, the monitor goes black and states "d-sub power saving mode". The tower stays on. Thx

1. Check the connections and make sure they are still tight. If the monitor isn't getting data signal it can go into power saving mode. Since it was working I would check this first.

2. Look in control panel under POWER OPTIONS and make sure it's not set to turn off after so long.

3. Also check the settings for your screensaver under display settings. That too could put it into poewr saver mode.

It could be a setting on the monitor itself that somehow got changed. Check out the settings to see if anything has changed.
