I appreciate the information, but wish there was more info provided, like if it is under waranty, can you replace it yourself or get the part (main board) and replace it yourself...without this information it requires follow-up questions and more expense

Is there any other source that you can plug in just to dee if it works, like a DVD player, this way we could start eliminating things. Let's at least se if it's the cable or the tv

Do you have a dvd player you can hook directly to the TV because it sounds like the cable box is bad. If you do try it and let me know

Check all the connections first .if they are all ok .then it s a problem on the main board which needs to be repaired

Comcast Code S0a00 I get Guide yet, no picture or sound

the guide is stored on the box so it will be there. the picture/sound comes throught the cable. so if you lose your cable service you lose picture but still get the guide (for a couple days).

make certain all the cable wires are tight from where it first comes in all the way through to the cable box, and maybe power cycle the box. (unplug the power for a sec then plug it back in)

if still the same call your provider.

good luck

I have the guide but no picture for 3 hours now. keeps telling me should get picture shortly ref s0a00?????

you lost your cable signal....
the guide is saved in the box, thats why you still see it
that temp off air message is also generated by your box because its not recieving anything from your cable provider.

make certain all cables from wall to cable box are tight then call your provider

good luck

Try checking the A/V Cables. They could be Defective or loose.

Blue Screen Issue

try hooking all systems involved to the same electrical circuit, using a power strip if neccessary. also check your big screen and other equipment and make sure that any polarized plugs are in correctly. if you are an electrician, or know one, check the circuits that you're using to be sure the outlets are wired correctly. if the ground, neutral or power are not wired to the outlets properly it will seem to work, but not right. check the "cable line in" at the ground block with a multimeter for excessive power or get a qualified cable tech to check. when you touch the cable coming to the box or the tv and also touch the cable in do you feel a tingle? if so, it is most likely a power issue as mentioned above.

SHARP TV SET

Check the power supply circuit. Typical voltage at B+ is 105V. Chances are that it is much lower. Check (as you say), capacitors on the primary circuit of the SMPS. Better still, replace all low voltage capacitors within the power supply.
