I want install windows xp and cant see the sat please help me how i can disable SATA

Before you did the install did you make sure that you set your CMOS setting to check for a cd disk first before booting straight to the hard drive? When you do an install, you must make sure that the computer knows to look for a bootable disk otherwise it will look for an operating system to boot to first. If this is the problem, after you have installed your operating system you must go back and reset your CMOS settings to look for a hard drive or operating system. you cannot dissable the on-board graphics in the bios, in the graphic
options you must choose which port you want to use, if you have a pci
express card then chose pci as the primary graphics, press ok then F10
your pc will reboot and the on-board vga won't load up in windows

Comment by Kevin A, posted on Mar 13, 2008 The reason for this is that the standard XP disks do not have drivers for the SATA disk. When booting from the CD, the internal disk is not recognised and thus invisible to the XP setup program.
