After selecting the new USB port, does that indicate it is a Virtual USB Port of just USB 002? As with Printers, they need all the available voltage and current from a USB port and USB 001 would have more believe it or not. It is not supposed to work this way in reality but it does, that there is more voltage at one port than another.

If you are getting steady results now, than leave it that way, otherwise, move your USB cable up to the ports on the back closest to the Mouse and Keyboard and then the socket closest to the edge of the case. I know it sound weird, but this is in fact the ports that get the most current and voltage from the system. I've had to do this out in the field at customer's homes.

Let me know what results you have from this please and we'll get to the bottom of it. In the long run I'll probably give you some instructions to delete things deep in the system and do a full uninstall of the Canon software and then reinstalling it all once again. Its a mess, I know, but very common unfortunately.

You already have the one and only tool. The only other thing is a maintenance reset, but your issue appears to be in the system setup for your printer and its creating a virtual USB port as a driver.

I found drivers for a Canon i250 but not a 255. I was going to suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the software. However, often after uninstalling it is advisable to run a registry cleaner.

Let me know about the product number and we can take it from there.

The thing that needs to be done is to remove the virtual USB002 port from in your system registry. This will either happen elegantly or not, that's what we need to discover.

So, removing all the printer software, running a registry cleaner, and then reinstalling your printer it in the correct sequence will probably fix your problem.

Please look on the back on your printer where there will be a label reflecting your model number as opposed to the name of your printer on the front. These can be different. So check that and include the serial number and we can get to the bottom of this and get you fixed.

    Regards,

Have problem with canon ip1800 refil black and color and everything sets and blinking orange 4 and green 1 time

acording to the canon led error codes, it means the absorber pad (for the waste ink, inside the printer) is full. you can try using this software tool http://www.ziddu.com/download/4287279/Software_Resetter_CanoniP1900.zip.html to reset the printer or do it manualy:
  1. Press and hold power button with your finger and then take in power cable
  2. Hold power button, then press resume button with your middle finger twice.
  3. Let in power button
  4. Printer doesnot blinking any more.
  5. At this step you had done Manual Reset Step and printer could be use again.
  6. But if manually your printer still error, you should use Reset Software permanently
any way, your printer absorber pad /for the waste ink/ must be cleaned.

Normal 0 Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

PROBLEM COPYING WITH MY ALL- IN- ONE

This message is inbuilt into most Canon printers, there is spongy thing in the printer which when fills up fires the message (it's mostly a counter in the printer, which can be reset more later...), per Canon this can only be dealt with in a lab but some of the more adventurous have tried cleaning it by themselves. Note that in a lab they won't clean it, it's a part that needs replacing and it might cost around $60. In most Canon printers there is a reset procedure that can reset the error and allow you to print some more before handling it again. Following are the reset procedures for some of the Printers: (not that F60 isn't listed here) Canon GENERIC "S" SERIES RESET CODE Waste Ink Counter Reset. (1) Turn off the printer. (2) Press and hold the RESUME button, then press and hold the POWER button. (3) Release the RESUME button, Next press and release the RESUME button two(2) more times in succession. Note: you are still holding the POWER button). The printer's carriage will "reset" or move momentarily. If the above was properly performed the printer will enter the "Service Mode". (4) Press the RESUME button 4 times, this will select the clear waste ink counter function. The lamp will alternate (change) color with each key press. 1. Service/Factory test printout, including ink sensor check. 2. EEPROM - Info printout. 3. EEPROM - Initialization. 4. Reset the Waste ink counter. 5. Printer model setting. (More selections beyond this point - However it is best leave them unaltered - You have been warned!) After selecting the desired mode (eg 4), press the POWER button to "set" the change, and return to the top of the function selection menu. Press the POWER button again to restart the printer. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Canon PIXMA iP1000 Waste Ink Counter Reset Manual for Service mode 1. Turn off the printer.
