Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My GW-2078 fireplace fan does not seem to be working and therefore, each time I try to turn on the heat, it shuts itself off. Have you had experience with this & how to fix/what part to replace?

Sometimes its as simple as WD40 on the ends of the motor where the spindle is held in place by the metal. I have a forced air fireplace and I would service it every year with getting into the motor compartment and cleaning this out and oiling. The get a lot of dust in them every year. Try, after the unit is unplugged, to manually spin the fan. It should spin very easily. If not just do some cleaning and try the WD40. I have had mine for roughly 18 years and it still works because I do this type of service. Any questions, feel free to ask.

GW-2078, makes a high pitch noise when fan is running, how can this be corrected, other than that it works fine

Without me physically hearing the noise I can't be certain but it sounds like a bad bearing from what you described. I would try spraying a little WD-40 or some type of lube. If that doesn't work then the fan motor may have to be replaced.

I have a GW-2068 heater. It will not power on. What can fix this

"Not a solution, but a problem. I bought a 2078 from Big Lots 2mo. ago. Friday night, nothing. Checked plugin breakers, etc. Finally dissembled the entire thing and checked every led, circuit, etc, and found nothing out of place or burnt. Now What? Taking it back to Big Lots today in a million pieces. Hope they can take a joke. Really like the outfit but need it to work."
Obviously a poor quality product. Hope the story made you laugh at least!

I would first Google the model number with "remote" to see if you can locate one on the internet.
