I am trying to connect my macbook pro 4.1 to a wireless printer. That printer works fine - when on wireless with my wifes windows machine and it works fine if i connect my mac to the printer- just not n a...

IN the case of the Mac what I have had to do in the past was shut down the other laptops and computers, delete the printer program from the Mac and start over. During the setup of the printer make sure nothing is connected to the printer. Only connect what you are instructed to at the appropriate time. It will eventually ask you how you are going to connect to the printer from that particular printer, answer ethernet cable and attach the ethernat cable to the printer from your router, make sure your laptop is connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Always set your computer up to the printer vis a hard line, then onve it is done you can swap over to a wireless setup. Once the setup is complete and a test print is accomplished bia ethernet cable, then disconnect the cable from the laptop to the router. Once you are connected to the network wirelessly, attempt another test page, you have already set the printer up at this point to be your default printing device so the laptop will find the printer on the network and initiate it. You may have to watch close for a pop up window asking to allow the connection or access to the program. Maybe think about dropping the firewall temporarily until the connection is secure.

No Active Internet Connection

If you want to use the wireless portion of your router, you would need a wireless adapter installed on your desktop. If you are getting internet on your desktop then this means that your wired connection is fine to the router is fine. The WMP54G adapter will work with your router, however if you are not planning on connecting to the internet wirelessly through the router then there is no need to purchase the adapter. Hope that this helps you out.

Router keeps knocking off laptop and desktop ISP service

HEY,
Make sure the router is properly connected and the physical setup is ok, not kept close to any emitting electronic device like a speaker. Connect the router hard wired, Access the modem's gui by the ip address. (type in ipconfig in you command window, the default gateway will be your modems IP) once you type that ip address in the address bar of IExp. it will ask you for the uid and the password, leave it blank or use admin as username and password is blank... Take the uid and the password for your internet from your internet service provider... eg AT&T or Primus Canada. Enter that in there and and try to configure the router.

but before you move on to the router. make sure the modem has the DSL light solid and not blinking... Try it and let me know..
