You probably blew the thermal fuse. Here is the part to order.
Remove the back panel and the fuse is located on the bottom left side.

SOURCE: My Electric dryer will not start.

you might have something stuck in the impeller. if there isn't anything stuck, you might require a new motor

SOURCE: GE dryer starts but..... stops

What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.
Thanks/Mike

SOURCE: my Asko T721 Electric Dryer is having drying troubles

Here's the answer:
The dryer has a thermo protection "fuse" that pops-out when the lint filter is not cleaned and air will not flow properly. When the airflow is restricted the dryer gets too hot and the "fuse" pops. Then it will not run unless you stand there and hold the start button in. As soon as you stop pressing the button the dyer stops running.
Clean the filter ESPECIALLY the "internal" filter. This one is behind the lower skirt of the machines face. There are two Torex head screws (T20) to be removed and the skirt comes right off.
Inside you see two red handles that you turn to open the filter door. Open the door and pull out the filter. It is a long metal finned box. Take it to your bathtub and run a ton of water through both ends to remove the lint inside. You'll be surprised at how much.
O K now let's "fix" the "fuse". Here it is likely you will need to pull the machine away from the wall. The fuse is a black plastic button about the size of a penny. It sits in the center of the machine's backside. It faces up a bit and if you have clearance you can reach your arm over the machines top and press it "in" with a finger. It clicks when you do so. This part is a no brainer. The dyer will now start properly.
The hard part to all of this is pulling the machine away from the wall since like me you probably have it sitting on top of an Asko washer. Take your time. You can do it.

SOURCE: Maytag Electric Dryer Stopped Working

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.

To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

Samsung front load dryer

it sounds like the problem may be with the door lock. Having shoes bouncing around in the dryer they are bound to hit the door over and over possible causing damage to the lock. Try pushing on the door and holding it shut while you turn on the unit and see if it works.

My Whirlpool Inglis Model IED4400SQ0 dryer just stopped. The fuse is fine. I think the problem might be in the start button but I'm not sure. I think this is it because the dryer stopped 2 days ago, then...

this doesn't have a board in it so you either have a bad timer or motor,i would think it would be the timer, try tapping on the timer with a screw driver or something light or wiggle the timer knob and see if it starts, also did you have this on timed dry?it sounds like the timer died and then somehow power went through it again and it ran,the timer controls how long the dryer will run so this is why i think it could be the timer,or a broken wire but try wiggling the knob and see if it starts.let me know thanks.

Dryer drum stopped rotating, dryer blower continues to work.

The belt probably broke, and coincidentally happened while drying the shoes. The belt is easy to replace. Open the back and you'll probably see the belt laying on the bottom

Dryer quit running when I was drying a pair of shoes

If a dryer is not working at all that's not good! But it doesn't mean you need to go appliance shopping just yet. It may be something very simple like a bad door switch or even a broken door switch actuator, in a kenmore dryer there is a tab thats sticks out of a hole in the wall that allows the dryer to run only if the door is shut, other models may have button that protrudes out of the dryer and when the door is shut, this allows the dryer to run. These switches go out from time to time, also if a dryer is full of lint build-up over time this will cause the dryer high limit or fuse to blow. The fuse is located near where the blower is in most cases. When the air in the dryer gets way too hot the fuse/hi-limit will blow and the house wont burn down.

Maytag Performa Electric Dryer Won't Start

check the blower wheel, sounds to me like it is loose on the blower motor, common on these dryers. One sure sign would be a warped filter and a rusted top. The blower aint putting out enough and the dryer is over heating .

I have a Kenmore dryer, my son put his BIG basketball shoes in to dry and now the dryer runs, has heat and does not spin? Can this be fixed or do I need a new dryer?

I WOULD START BY CHECKING THE BELT. THE IMPACT OF THOSE SHOES MAY HAVE BEEN ENOUGH OF A JOLT TO CAUSE THE BELT TO COME OFF THE PULLEY OR BREAK.
