SOURCE: TWO DARK SPOTS IN THE SCREEN
My tv set as the same problem. By doing some research on the internet found out it is the optical block. Very expensive to fix if you do not have extended warranty coverage. Apparently, it is not an isolated case and many many many owners of this set are experiencing discoloration after owning it for a few years. Sony will tell you they don't know anything about it. There's a lawsuit pending. Sony apparently knew about these defects and they continued selling them. No more Sony for me. I feel betrayed. Whta is worst, when you call Sony they play dumb and treat you like you are an ignorant person. Normal tear and wear they say. Only 4 yrs with this unit and paid more than $3k. Normal? Unacceptable.
