Question about Dell A940 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Dell A940 copier works fine but will not print

My Dell A940 Appears to print, but produces a blank paper. Copier works fine. I saw a posting here that sounded the same and followed the answer: shut down spooling, removed the dell software & reinstalled firmware and drive but the problem persists. Any other ideas? Thanks

    Thanks for the response. the printer is not heavily used, but the fact that a copy will print fine makes it improbable it could be the cartridges. I'm at the point now where I'm ready to just toss it and get a replacement.

    Having the same problem also it is now giving me a message stating that the color cartridge is missing when it is in the printer. I tried to switch the cartridge in put the black cartridge in now it says black cartridge is missing.

    my ink ran out I replaced it and now it won't print files from my computer. The test sheet came out in full color though?

    The test page prints in its entirely, but when I open notepad and type just a work or two, the page is blank. i can print pictures too just fine. i've deleted the printer and reinstalled. i've removed the cartridges and replaced them. i'm unplugged the printer and plugged it back in. still blank pages

    I am thinking that the ink is not coming out of the cartages. Has it been along time since it has been used?

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Can't print

Three years unused cartridges might have become really very tough by now. The heads must be clogged and really very hard. Please dip it (cartridge head) in a bowl of warm water (only the head portion), if possible, **** out some of its contents or you can use the refill kit to do some suction job (use soft tissue paper or cotton to wipe off the head after doing this). I would suggest you to replace the cartridges. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Print problems with A940 dell printer

The print-head pulls ink from the ink-cartridge, and sprays it onto the paper, unless the print-head has become "clogged".

Run a "print-head-cleaning" cycle, to try to unclog it.

My a940 will not feed the paper. the error message

Here is the Dell support page the gives instructions for this errror, (though not overly helpful, I'm afraid.) See also instructions here, here, here,
If none of those steps correct the problem, reset the printer by following these instructions.

I don't know you talking about color printer or black/white or copier that is all difference, if copier, you have go to check the charge&discharge corona wire if black/white printer you have check the image roller both end contact is clean,

hmm..ok..if the test page is good, then it's in the drivers. get new ones, remove old ones first, re install try again.

Dell A940 Color Ink Problem

Do check the option and make sure that you have not inadvertently set it to black only- This could be computer wise or on the A940 panel. If you are sure all is well here Remove the scanner software and reinstall. Email Dell to See what they have to say
