Question about Dell Computers & Internet
My system is a dell dimension 2400 running Windows XP Pro. I do not have any of the disks that must have come with the system. Its a pass down from a brother to wife (my daughter) with no information about what the original pass word is. I've tried the password reset jumper procedure and removing the cmos batterie niether removed the request for a password and only am able to get limited access using the guest level log in.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

the files from XP may or may not be readable on vista...and I can assure you vista files will not read on xp..
recommend you get two of those.
no guarantees of interchangeability from xp to vista(why am I not surprised?)

Ok, what I am going to do is show you how to bypass or (hack) a password protected windows xp computer. first, restart your computer>press F8 before it boots up, a menu will come up>select safe mode>restart in safe mode>the admin account comes up> click on it and click yes when the small menu comes up> the computer should boot to the desktop now>select start>control panel>select user accounts>select change account and follow the prompts to creating a new account (make sure that the administrator radio button is selected) put in your new password, etc> restart your computer. You should now have administrator privileges on that system. Let me know if you have any further problems. :-)

3.) make sure the system is unplugged
4.) press the power button and hold for 10 seconds
5.) replace battery, plug in and power on.
