Question about Kenmore 3.8 cu. ft. HE3t Front Load Washer
The washer sometimes does not drain all the way and i am getting a bad odor coming from the washer. When i move the drum around it sounds like there is a lot of water that has not drained completely. Please help
I occasionally get the F11 code and have to either unplug or manually release the door. I also have standing water in the drum. Are these related or separate problems?
I had this exact problem: door wouldn't unlock, drum wouldn't drain water, error codes- suds and F(something).
Here what I had to do:
Remove the bottom panel then pull the big white twist plug which acts as a catch filter for big debris and also will empty the water in the washer. After cleaning the huge mess up I cleaned out the filter tray and reinstalled. Then started a cycle. Same problem.
Started over with draining and cleaning then went to the drain pump which is inline and directly to the right of the filter/drain twist cap. Its a black cylinder with a two wire plug on it. While it was trying to run to remove the water from the bottom of the washer it didn't sound right, instead there was just a hum and no apparent moment from the impeller. I then unplugged the machine and remove the two wire plug (open top access flap to access plug) and three mounting screws. Pulled the pump from the mounting surface and inspected. The pump looked good with no apparent issues. I then stuck my finger into the open cavities that were created by the removal of the pump and twist drain plug. Inside I found a piece of plastic that was left in a pair of pants.
Apparently this small plastic chunk was lodged in between the impeller blades of the pump and the lines that the water moves through not allowing the pump to turn. Reinstalled everything as I found it and no more issues.
I hope this helps someone. This forum had a ton of great ideas for me to check and probably saved me a lot of money.
Thank you. JJB

I really want to thank whoever posted this. It saved my washer. I was about to get rid of it because I thought I would have to contact sears to fix it and that bill would have been the same as buying a new one .Thank you soooooooo much!!!

Something is probably stuck in the pump catch. thereare 3 t15 torque screws take those off and the bottom panel of the washer will come off. after doing that straight in the middle you will see something that looks white and that you can twist off . twist it off and make sure you have plenty of towels because the water igoing to come gushing out this should solve an f2 and a suds error. the f11 error code is your ccu board. Are you hearing a clicking sound right before it gives you an f11?
