SOURCE: 18 inch dishwasher does not have any water

HI. This is a water inlet valve issue. I recommend testing this device. it may be faulty.

To access the inlet valve remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it. One hose will lead from the valve to the pump/motor assembly in the center of the dishwasher. Check that the hoses are securely connected to the valve and that there are no kinks in the hoses which could restrict water flow. There are two wires (four, if it has two solenoids) connected to the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced. Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. If your valve has two solenoids, test the second one in the same way as the first. Replace the valve if it fails the test.

Avanti not filling

Check that you are getting water to the water inlet valve. Sometimes they fail and will not let water into washer. I have replaced a number of them and they cost about 30-50 dollars. You can goole appliance parts and find a company that you can order it from. hope this helps

Door falls down

Sandra,

You need a door link balance kit for your dishwasher door. It is part number 8194001. Google it and you will see what it is. You can get it at Sears brand central or ebay or any online appliance parts supply store. You will have to slide your dishwasher out a little to replace them. Look along the bottom edges of the right and left side of the dishwasher and you will find that one of the balance link "strings" has snapped. Yes......they use nylon string and not wire cable. Remove the bottom front black toekick panel as well. Very simple job once you gain access to the lower sides of the dishwasher. Suggest replacing both at the same time as if one broke, the other isn't far behind. Hope this helps.

Washer won`t stop filling with water

Your float switch is stuck or your water valve is bad.
The float switch is located under and behind the toe kick panel on the dishwasher.
Remove the toekick panel and push up on the float switch.

Access to Dishwasher Pump to check for Blockage

Turn off the power to the DW.
Remove the screws holding the door panel on(not the control panel screws).
Remove the "toekick" panel from the bottom of the DW. The pump will be in front of you.
Use a volt meter to check for power to the pump. If there is power, remove the pump and check for a blockage. If no blockage you can make a 120 volt test cord to power the pump to see if it works.

Very noisy

You may have something lodged in the pump that is causing it to rattle a bit.. Depending on the model, you may need to remove or disable power, then gain access to the pump by removing the toekick panel from the front.. You may also be able to zero in on the specific cause of that rattle by removing that toekick and cysling the dishwasher while listening for the source of that rattle.. A flashlight may help spot that source.. Hope that at least gets you headed in the right direction... Re-post if you still have an issue..
Regards,
Rick
