The adjustment on the L/O is a little tricky for the novice you probably need a tech.

Thanks Dicky-O, I found a lifting arm was bent, straightened it out and works great.

The lift-off tape is to low

1. Use the SPACEBAR or BACKSPACE to move the carrier to the center of the typewriter, then turn off the typewriter and unplug the unit from the AC outlet.
2. Open the Top Cover and remove the cassette ribbon, if installed.
3. Pull off both spools by holding the correction tape taut between the spools; bring the correction tape to a position parallel with the platen and lift up and out.

4. Pass the new tape through left guide, behind the ribbon guide and out through the right guide. The rough (sticky) side of the tape should face the platen.

5. Attach the feeder spool to the pin on the left.

6. Attach the take up spool to the pin on the right. Turn the take up spool counter-clockwise until a small amount of white tape has wound around it.

7. Replace the cassette ribbon and close the top cover, plug in the AC cord to the AC outlet, and turn on the typewriter.

Wheelwriter 2 correction ribbon lift adjustment nost high enough

Check that the lift off is properly attached to the ribbon and ribbon is installed properly, If the liittle tabs on the L/O cassette are broken you can use a piece of tape to hold them together.

I have an xerox memorywriter 6010 and when i type, some of the letters are only half there or lighter than the others.

Check for folds in the ribbon and look at it to be sure it is lifting and feeding properly, check the printwheel for bent or broken spokes.
Print on a multipart form, if the carbons are good you have a ribbon problem.

Hello, The correction ribbon does not raise high enough to erase any text. It raises just enough to catch the bottom part of lower case g, j, etc. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Thanks...

Underneath the ribbon cassette base on the RHS there is access to a small "phillips head" screw. Remove the ribbon cassette, move the carriage to the LHS,POWER OFF. Loosen the screw, do not remove it or you will have a hard time getting it back in....once loosened, lift the cassette base up or down to the required position, tighten the screw. re-install tape and try machine...adjust as necessary.

Typewriter won't erase letters completely.

Correction tapes do have a shelf life and can dry out. You should try replacing the correction tape and see if it is better. If that does not fix it, does the tape lift up high enough to cover the entire letter? If not, you have a lifting problem and will need a tech to fix it.

Xerox memory writer 6010 print wheel came off - how do I put it back on

Pull back on the small grey handel just in front of the printwheel, drop the P/W in with the letters facing the platen, push the grey handel to the back, turn it on and the P/W will reset itself.
