Try a lower resolution like 800X600 to see if it stops. If it does not, the possible issue is the connection between the laptop and the screen. I've had to replace screens for this issue as a last resort and fixes it.

Ive tried the resolution but doesnt help. Some say video driver needs updating but theres none available.

Drivers won't fix it, your connections or the monitor has gone bad.

try this press and hold Fn then tap on arrow up key check if the display will become bright. if fails try connecting an external monitor to your laptop check if display is fine. if not then uninstall video driver then install a latest one. if fails replace the video card drive or motherboard if video is built-in. if display is fine from the external monitor then reseat the LCD cable if fails then replace the LCD panel with the LCD cable.

SOURCE: Dell M70 laptop won't boot up

If you have a Windows installation CD, you can use the Recovery mode to attempt to fix the problem.

Turn on computer, insert CD into drive.
Press any key to boot from CD
Windows installation process will start
After a few minutes, a screen will come up telling you to hit ENTER to install Windows, or to press R to enter the Recovery Console
Press "R"
You will be asked which operating system
Most times there is only one option, select 1
At command prompt, type "fixboot" and press ENTER, if it asks if you're sure, type "Y" press ENTER again
Then, at command prompt, type "fixmbr" and press ENTER, again, type "Y" and press ENTER if it asks.
Type "exit" and press ENTER to exit recovery console and reboot.

Give that a try and see if it will boot for you.

SOURCE: when i turn on my dell 1501 laptop, the screen

Take out the dvd drive from your laptop. Then turn it on and see if the messages goes away, If it does then go ahead and turn off the laptop and reseat the drive back into the laptop. Then turn it on and if the message reappears then it could be that the dvd drive is bad and would need to be replaced.

Inspiron 1720 reboots randomly. tried reseating ram and cant find solution. the reboot happens usually when i try to use programs and just shuts down and restarts like nothing happened. help is very...

most likely related to the blue screen issues. a possible reinstall of the OS may be needed. To check if it is blue screen related, restart the computer, press F8 when system restarts, then select the option to disable auto-restart option on the advanced options menu and press Enter. Next time you use the system, see if it will still auto-restart or if you'll get a blue screen. If there is an error, a system rstore or OS repair or reinstall may also be needed.

Dell Precision M70 PC booting problem

There’s probably an issue with your boot-up files or the hard drive. Suggest you start backing up all your documents, pictures and anything else that you don’t want to lose. Press and hold the <Fn> key while powering the system on. This will run the Dell Diagnostics. If no errors are detected, your software has a problem.
