Just installed a heller ceiling fan with remote, it works fine from the remote but the light nolonger works from the light switch

All the switch on the wall does is turn the power on/off. You have to do everything from the remote with the wall switch on.

Hunter fan works light broken

Check to make sure light wires are connected at light kit & remote. Otherwise it's probably a bad receiver. If there is a pull chain for the light pull it once & try the remote light button again.

On the hampton bay remote control fan and light module, i do not have wiring diagram. from my ceiling box, i have a red, a black, a white, and a bare copper wire. I think it is because the light switch has...

Unfortunately, Mark it's really not as simple as it sounds, to connect the wires properly. Because of that third red traveler wire for the 3-way switch. Actually, ceiling fans don't work well, when a 3-way switch is involved, because it was designed only for lighting convenience. When the fan is turned on, the other ceiling lights will start to glow, whether they are ON or not..

You would be much better served if you can locate another line to come off of and wire to that. Of course,y you won't have the convenience of a wall switch to operate it. But, that's what the pull chains on the fan are for.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My ceiling fan/light goes on when I am not in the room. The remote is on the bureau. I sometimes put the remote in another room but the fan/light still goes on. Model 327185-060

The simple solution is to turn the wall switch OFF when, the fan is not in use. I really don't think the remote alone is the culprit. Because, you say it happens even when it's in the bureau or in another room. Remote controls for ceiling fans have a very short range and are generally infrared remotes, rather than radio frequency remotes. So, if the infrared signal does not reach the receiver's sensor in the fan, it won't function. If it's a radio frequency remote control, do you have any other remote controlled fans in the house? If so, does the suspect fan seem to turn ON after you have activated the other fan? If that happens, it means both remote controls are on the same frequency. Changing the frequency of one, should solve the problem. See your Owner's Manual for directions on how to reprogram the frequency codes.

If none of the above solves the problem, maybe you should contact the "Ghost Hunters" TV show.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Ceiling fan is all wired up and on ceiling but light doesn't come on or fan doesn't spin. I have checked connections and tested for power. Is there a switch or anything on receiver that needs to be...

Jerry, from what you said, I assume you have a remote controlled ceiling fan. If that's the case, check the batteries in the hand held and the receiver, to make sure they are charged. Also, make sure they are installed properly. The Owner's Manual should have a reference to setting or resetting the codes for the remote control (Hand Held & the Receiver). Check those to make sure they are matching. And don't forget, the wall switch must remain ON for the fan to work, even with the remote control. The remote simply overrides the wall switch, when in operation. You may have to use the pull chain to start the fan motor the first time, then the remote can take over from there.

Good luck. I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

The remote controls the fan speed but wont dim or control the light. the unit wont work if the light switch is off so I cant use the fan at all unless the light is turned on

mcdevito75 here, Generally the Ceiling fan motor is hooked up by-passing the wall switch but still to the hot laed going to the wall switch whlie the lights are hooked up to the hot lead after the wall switch, So without the remote, Manually operate your fan and lights. First with the wall switch off the fan should work and the lights no work. Now turn the fan off with the pull chain on the fan shroud close to the ceiling. Now turn wall switch on and lights should work with wall switch and the fan should also work. if so, re-program the remote or change the batteries or even re--place the remote.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.
