Hi dallasblue08,

Here's a diagram of what your looking for:

The following eMachine models share the same motherboard (and thus the same front panel layout):
T2742 T2796 T2798 T2824 T2885 D2823 T2862 T2896 T2898 T2958

can u possibly tell me - 284ecac.png

HERE ARE THE DIAGRAMS STRAIGHT FROM TECH SUPPORT, HOPE THEY HELP, PLZ POST ANYWHERE THERE NEEDED.. http://e4allupgraders.info/dir3/phfilesz/manuals/l7vmm2.zip http://support.gateway.com/s/Checklists/BPC/ck2007050376.shtml and yes the motherboards die when the power-supply does usually, they made them like this to make more money so ppl would have to either buy a new computer or new mother board and power supply which isin't much price difference, i went through several emachines lately same problem.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Motherboard missing drivers

Drivers aren't available for download from eMachines for this model. But the download page at Intel for the chipset used should have the drivers you need. Computer makers sometimes get custom versions of drivers, but the generic ones from the motherboard manufacturer usually work as well.

Emachine t2742 I also have a wiring problem!

gtater,
It's ironic that you ask me this question today-- i am just now carrying in another eMachine computer to fix. Anyway, unfortunately I do not have one that is the same model as yours (T2742). However, I did some quick research and found that yours has the same exact motherboard as the T2898 which I made the diagram for!

The following eMachine models share the same motherboard (and thus the same front panel layout):
T2742 T2796 T2798 T2824 T2885 D2823 T2862 T2896 T2898 T2958

For further reference, I would like to share this diagram for the eMachines T6544 in case someone else may need this model. This is the computer I just carried in... might as well share.

By the way, the power switch doesn't need to be oriented any particular way (positive and negative), which is why the switches are not labeled as + or -. Switches can be wired either way and they will work the same.

Hope this helps.

T2742 OEM Bios Update

I researched and could not find it. I suggest that you have a Chat session with the eMachine support @:

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html

Or you can download BiosAgent and it will tell you what you need, but to download it, you would have to purchase it for a fee of $29.00. I download BioAgent and it told me what Bios and hardware updates I needed.

copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
