You are adding another switch?
And connecting it to another box that has a light switch?
The first box must have a Black Hot and White Neutral.

Copy following link that shows drawing power from another outlet with Black Hot and White Neutral. Only the Black Hot wire connects to new switch.
Add a comment as needed.

How could I hookup my led light bar to my Baja 125 dirt runner? There is no battery. It's a kickstart. I need alight on it asap.

Buy one with a battery or buy a battery and mount with switch on bike somehow. Small 12 volt rechargeable gel-cells are available at Home Depot for $30. You would have to recharge it from time to time.

I'm pretty sure your bike has a magneto ignition system and does not need 12 volt DC power to operate it.

Eagle switch (on/off with a light.I want to install it. it has 2 dark screws on one side, +line+. And alight shiney colored screw at one end, and a brass screw at the other end whitch says cu wire only....

The Eagle 271 is designed to switch two, separate circuits. If you only have a black & a white wire in the wall, then it sounds like you only have one switching circuit in there.

You could use the device you have if you want. Connected the black wire to one of the dark screws, and the white wire to either the brass or the shiny screw (just pick one). This will make one light switch work, and the other light switch will be solely for decoration.

If you used to be able to switch two, separate circuits from this switch box, and you only see the black & white wire, then I hate to tell you, it sounds like you lost a wire in the wall.

I want to change . alight switch ito a combination switch. outlet and light but thiers only two wires runin to light switch

You only have two wires, because it is wired for a switch leg. You only have the incoming hot and outgoing hot to the light. You need a neutral and grounding conductors also. If you're putting this in a bathroom, it should be a GFCI receptacle. You will have to add another wire, or just add another box in the wall.

The remote controls the fan speed but wont dim or control the light. the unit wont work if the light switch is off so I cant use the fan at all unless the light is turned on

mcdevito75 here, Generally the Ceiling fan motor is hooked up by-passing the wall switch but still to the hot laed going to the wall switch whlie the lights are hooked up to the hot lead after the wall switch, So without the remote, Manually operate your fan and lights. First with the wall switch off the fan should work and the lights no work. Now turn the fan off with the pull chain on the fan shroud close to the ceiling. Now turn wall switch on and lights should work with wall switch and the fan should also work. if so, re-program the remote or change the batteries or even re--place the remote.

Minka F719 Lavery Wired fan and fan works but light does not come

The light leg should be hooked to a power source. If you have a separate wire from a wall switch, that's where it should be hooked. Otherwise, you can hook it to the fan leg and operate the light from the switch on the fan.

I have red, metal, beige, and black wires in my ceiling. how do i hook up my Glendale fan?

If you could give me the specs on this (voltage and amperage), I can begin to help. Also, I would need to know what the values of the wires in the ceiling are. Black or Red wire's a Hot wire or switch leg. To find this out. First turn off the circuit breaker(s) at your electrical house panel. There could be two circuits, so make sure to have a voltage tester, or a little induction voltage tester that will help determine if power is on or off. Also, turn your wall switch off designated for this fixture. Now, leaving the wall switch off. Make sure to do this with two people. Turn on the circuit breaker. Either the black or the red wire will be hot (unless there's other circuits involved, which I don't think there is). Once you determine your hot wire, write it down. And then turn on the wall switch. Now, the other wire should be hot now. This is your switch leg. The wire that will operate (on and off) your fixture. Beige is most likely your neutral wire, and will go to the white wire(s) at the fixture. And the metal wire is your ground wire, and should go to your bare copper wire inside of your fixture. So now, turn everything back off (including both your circuit breaker and wall switch). So, Hot wire goes directly to your wall switch. It might be easier to hook up your switch leg first, because then the wire left over will go to your switch. So, Hot wire hooks up to wall switch. Other wire coming from switch, hooks up to the other colored wire (switch leg). The beige wire stays at the fixture and hooks up to the white wire(s), and then the bare copper wire splices (connects) to the metal wire from the ceiling. After you have everything wired, and the fixture put back together. Here's how you test it. Leave wall switch in off position. First, turn the circuit breaker back on. If everything is fine, then you turn on the wall switch. Note: If you're able to leave the fixture in the on position prior to turning the wall switch on - do so. That's why if there's any problems, you'll be a safe distance away. And the worst that could happen is that you trip the circuit breaker. Then, you'll have to recheck everything you did, and make sure all your connections are secure. Well, Good Luck to you, and feel free to ask me any further questions you may have. Jim

Quattro Plus heater will not stay alight

Does this unit have a thermocoupling?

If so replace it. (6 bucks)
It is the units flame sensor and they routinely go bad.
When they no longer sense flame the unit will shut off gas to the ignitor/burner.
It will only stay lit when you are manualy holding the button.
