You should check into the back of the manual. And there should be a trouble shoot section. Try to find the cause from there, If not:

Have you ever turned this MP3 player on?

If so, Is this the first time you replaced the batteries?

If you answered yes to any of these. The new batteries may have caused damage to the Player.

You may heed warnings that say dont mix old and new batteries or batteries from different make. But these are warnings that are meant to be followed

I downloaded a book from I'm ready to listen. Half the screen on the ipod 2GB show the title in a list of books, the other half shows a picture of the book cover, but nothing is playing. ...

I advice you delete the book from your ipod, perhaps the book did not copy well or not well installed.

you should no which kind of format does your mp3 player supports,
For you the supported formats are: MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF, ACT.MTV, JPEG and BMP

If you are not so sure about it's format, please refer to the manual of your mp3 player.
Secondly, download the right format of book from internet and save them.

After that you can now transfer to your ipod and ensure that it is saved on the ipod.

Take care.

Apple ipod 30gb video

the recharge time on a fully discharged battery is 6 to 10x the discharge time. so, if that battery was good for 2 hours, the recharge could take 12 to 20 hours..sit back and see how it goes.

Dropped it!

This shows that your screen has been damaged. Unless you notice anything like a visual crack on it. Just take it to the service centre and say ur ipod wont turn ON. Dont say anything that u dropped it. Be innocent and if ur lucky ur ipod may be replaced. Please rate me...!!!

I had this very same problem. To fix this problem you have to re-flash your RCA MP3 player with the following file: My RCA Model RD 1072a as worked fine since flashing the player with this file.

Well, i'm having problems with my Sansa c140 also, but with this problem I think I can help, hook your mp3 player into your computer, than delete all the songs, and simply put them all back on, and if that doesn't work, than repost.

Check the battery to see if it has the original capacity if not you may need to rejuvenate it. Also try to open the unit and reattach the LCD. Good Luck.
