SOURCE: cannot put blade into 310

Point tool away from body.

2. Rotate blade clamp collar (the knurled diamond pattern knob just at the back of where the blade goes) to release position.

3. Insert blade shank from the front.
4. Rotate blade clamp collar to lock blade into position.

SOURCE: How do I remove a broken blade on a reciprocating

Sometimes if you take the set screw completely out and then use a flat blade small screw driver to wege open the throat you can use a dental pick to get it out. Spray it first with wd40.

Hope you weren't using those cheap blades from harbor freight - that is how I learned that trick - bought the dental picks from harbor freight.

You are going to have to disconnect belt and try to turn pulleys on drive system to locate the excact location. It sounds like a belt tension or bearing problem to me.

Band saw very noisy

This could be several things. To find the noise, unplug it, open the covers and turn the wheels by hand to see if you cand find where the noise is coming from - this might help you find the source of noise if it the blade is hitting something it's not supposed to. If that doesn't find it, you might try removing the blade entirely and running the motor to see if the motor is the source of the noise. If that doesn't find it, you might try putting a different blade on. Good luck.

The spring loaded clamp sleve mechanically holds the blade pin down to hold the blade in place. It doesn't pull it up to release the blade but simply lets the pin float freely so the blade can be removed.

Motor runs but blade does not move

It sounds like you have a problem somewhere between the motor armature and the reciprocating mechanism that makes the blade move up and down. Unfortunately the only parts Skill has available for your saw are the switch, cord, brushes and blade holder You'll could take it apart to see if something came apart that is repairable without parts. If you need parts like gears or motor parts, they are not available.

sounds like you have a gear problem, I suggest going to dewaltservicenet.com and typing in yoru model number so you can download a schematic for this tool. you have a problem in the gearcase area.

Cordless 18 volt lithium ion sawzall hums and clicks blade wont move

I don't know what model you have but Milwaukee sawzalls use a wobble shaft and wobble plate to turn the rotary motion of the armature into the reciprocating action of the blade. If you motor is working (hums?) but the blade won't move one or more of these parts are broken and hitting eacher (clicks?) inside the gear case. You or a repair center will have to take the gear case apart to find our what's broken and determine whether it's worth repairing.

Blade reciprocates then constantly stops. When it stops is just revs and doesn't move. If I pull the blade to it's furthest extension point it works for a moment and then stops again.

you have a problem with the gear/pinion stripped or missing teeth and when you pull it out temporarily it engages in a spot where there is little damage. You didn't specify what brand or model it is but usually the parts are close to the price of replacing the tool.

I need directions on how to change the baldes on a reciprocating saw.

There are 2 types of clamps that hold the blade in that type of saw.

Since this one most likely has the type where the blade is held in place with a set screw and a "U" shaped piece of metal that holds the blade tight against the shaft. There should be a screw hole in the shaft of the saw. The blade rest next to the shaft and then the metal piece clamps the blade against the shaft. This is all held in place by a set screw that screws into the shaft. This screw uses a hex key to remove and tighten it.

If your tool doesn't have this style then it should have a twisting clamp. This will rotate and release the blade. Sometimes a pliers is needed to loosen the collar, but not to tight tho.
