Vestel 11ak36a15 no vertical deflection

Hi! I have no vertical deflection on this crt tv. I have 33V present on R816 but I don't have the 26V in TDA8174 pin 10. I've been checking all the resistors and capacitors but found nothing so far... All the voltages from the power supply seem to be good. Can anyone help, please?

BTW the tv shows a single horizontal line in the middle of the screen

    Thank you for your reply.
No breaks found and IC is checked and good. (Also tryed a brand new IC)
No voltage is reaching the IC. Could a bad capacitor cause this??

Check the track for any brake. Check the resistance between 10pin and 6pin. If IC is short, you can determine it by this check. Vestel 11ak36a15 no vertical deflection - tda8174-pinout.jpg

Can you follow the schematic diagram? You have to find out the reason for the absence of voltage to vertical output IC. For that, you must have some knowledge in electronics. Have you? Without having knowledge in electronics, you can't follow the schematic diagram. It is the blueprint of the set. Are you sure you can? Just see, this work is not as easy as replacing a fused bulb in a holder. Understand this at least. As I understands by now, from your responses, you are nothing in electronics. If you are confident, inform me. I'll send you the schematic diagram for this set. If you are not confident, please don't waste my time and effort. Contact any experienced service technician. OK?

I do have knowledge in electronics and in servicing. I probably sound illiterate on this subject because I am totally lost with this set. I have repaired several tv sets, radios and other electronic appliances. But I confess I am somehow lost with this set. The diagram I have for this chassis doesn't match the PCB (diodes in place of resistors, etc etc). I do not intend to waste your time nor mine.

SOURCE: tv cuts off 10 seconds after switch on and destroying vertical output ic

If the main IC is not putting out a vertical drive signal then the vertical output will not do anything and therefore will not be damaged. What exactly do you mean by the set "literally eats deflection IC's"? What is the number on the vertical output IC? I will bet that your pump-up cap or pump-up diode is defective.

in jvc av-27020 we called that problem as on timer.your red LED indicator blinking.the reason is your vertical ic is defective if your vertical ic is la7832 replace it with la7840 if there is no la7832.that is most common cause of blinking in jvc 27020

Is the problem with your flat panel ?
or flat crt tv ?
In the cause crt tv, there is the problem with vertical deflection driver IC or vertical deflection coils (some times called YOKE).
In cause of flat panel tv, there is the problem with the panel, the panel may be broken.

Wide black horizontal beam on tv screen

You're right. Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors at the vertical deflection output stage. There will be 5 or 6 of them. Replace all at one time.

Vertical line

Check the deflection yoke connection cable for any loose contact at its connection socket at main board side. Unplug the connector out from the socket, and re-plug it back for at least tow times. Check the solder terminals of all connections to horizontal output. It will be best to re-solder all suspected solder terminals there. [horizontal sweep signals to the deflection yoke is absent now. Only vertical sweep is present now]

Hi how can i modify the crt monitors yoke for a tv circuit.

Flat panel TVs don't have a yoke - that's the deflection coil for a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) as used in older non-flat TVs. Some CRT TVs and monitors had flat screens (i.e. the face is flat) but the overall package isn't.

So I'm not sure what it is you want to do. If you are trying to get a computer monitor to display TV signals, use a video capture device (there are many). Some work with a computer, some don't. But you can't just feed the video into a computer monitor unless it is made to take it (usually with an RCA or BNC connector vs. VGA, DVI or HDMI connectors).

Emerson EWF2702 TV Problem

Hello yyimerr1,

This is a vertical deflection problem, These are the possible causes:

1) bad vertical coupling capacitor
2) bad vertical output IC
3) bad vertical driver IC
4) bad CRT deflection yoke

Troubleshooting needed:
1) using the TVs schematic locate the driver IC the output IC and the CRT yoke transformer.
2) using an oscilloscope look at the vertical driver signal it should be a sawtooth signal from the driver to the yoke (increasing in amplitude for each section, i. e. driver and output).
3) if no sawtooth patter is seen that is your problem, look for the component in the section where signal is entering but nothing is coming out.
4) replace the components

Now let me tell you something, don't continue to play the TV with the line present with brightness applied, this will burn the image of the line into the phosphorous coating of the CRT.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

Shuttle83

Sound like you lost Vertical Deflection.  Youshould not have a line across the screen because this could destroy the threeCRT Red, Green, and Blue (Picture tubes) if left on to long. There is a protection circuit built in to protect your CRT’s.    Check on the PCB-SIGNALboard (Tuner located on this board) transistors Q-206 Collector should be around 1 Volt Base and Emitter 0V. If the voltage atthis point is greater then 5 Volts the Vertical output IC-401 (Mounted on heat sink 7 pin inline IC) is bad, Part # LA7845.  Pin Voltages should be PIN 1= 0V, 2= 34V, 3= 32V, 4= 3V, 5= 3V, 6= 33v, 7= -6V.  Data sheet located at http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/40357/SANYO/LA7845.html

Horizontal line in the middle of the television

From your description of the problem, there seems to be a Cold solder in the Vertical Oscillator or Deflection Coil circuits.
If you know Solid State electronics, and are good with a soldering Iron, sure u can do this yourself.
U gotta trace the Vertical section components and locate the cold solder. In most cases it will be a loose connector from the Deflection coil to the main PCB.Also check for the soldering of the Vertical output IC.
