Blinking ink light won't go off even with new cartridge
My HP deskjet 882c needed a new color cartridge. I replaced it and the blinking ink light still will not go off so the printer will not work. I cleaned the nodes with white vinegar (lightly) but still nothing. When I took the orginal old one out, I went to Walgreens thinking I would try having them refill it but they told me the it was a bad electrical connection but I am wondering if that happened because I just put it in my bag without protection as I had no idea at that time that it should be protected. Since then the light has been on and the printer malfunctioning. Does it need to be re-installed?

try cleaning the contacts with a towel if you see no progress one of your cartridge has been damaged due the refilling check here the right way to refill your cartridge so not to be damaged http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZNoUmS6hts for black and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TTFOsGRPJI for color cartridge
The light you describe is the ink light. When that light is blinking, try this.
Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge. Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).
IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too. This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full. You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.
This happens when the connections on the cartridge get old. Especially when you refill or buy non HP Cartridges, try buying brand new hp cartridges and you might be able to get a couple refill out of them before this happens again.
