Error E3 on Samsung J1043

The machine stops after about 30 seconds on all cycles. After the fuzzy logic attempts to correct (takes 7 goes at it) it comes up with the error code E3. Samsung say to call a tech. would like to avoid this! Can get the machine going if put it on cycle option L2. My uncle discovered this - its in the manual! Do youknow if this is a major prob that needs a tech visit, or is there some sort of master reset that can be done. Appears something is wrong with the computer components of the machine. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks.

i am having same issue with my machine, the 'E3' and don't know what to do??

  • flanker007 Feb 26, 2009

Samsung says E3 is an overload... apparently a week of underwear and socks for a single guy are too much for their "heavy duty" model. The tech says he can't do anything since the Samsung engineer is intent on blaming it on user (me) error.

Last Samsung product I buy! Good luck getting your machine working though.

thermistor error, so actually it is temperature related. the thermistor is located at the bottom of the tub asm. with the heater element. check wires and replace thermistor. the tech paper in the washer may give the proper ohms to check it with a meter.

try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.

SOURCE: Samsung J845 error SE or 5E

I found the manual! The error is '5E' and, according to the manual, the fix is to clean the filter in the bottom front of the machine. But it took a bit more to fix my machine. Here is what I had to do...

First, use a coin to remove the cover on the bottom right hand corner of the front of the machine. Then you will find two cover or plugs, one big and one small. The small one is the 'emergency drain', the big one is the 'filter'.
Pull on the emergency drain plug and you will find that it is attached to a black rubber hose. Pull this out until it is fully extended, about 15cm. Then twist the plastic plug out of the end of the of the hose. Water should run out of the hose and (eventually) drain the bowl.
If no water comes out then the hose is either kinked or blocked. If the hose is fully extended then it is probably blocked. Twist and remove the big (filter) plug. A small barrel shaped filter is attached to the back of this plug. Lots of water will probably rush out if the drain hose is blocked. Make sure the filter is clean by washing it under running water.
Remove any debris that is in the cavity. When you look into the hole where the filter goes, there is a propellor right at the back, a small hole in the bottom and a larger hole on the left side. Make sure the is no debris in any of these places. Also make sure the propellor spins freely.
I had sand and small gravel filling the small hole in the bottom of my machine. It is nearly impossible to pick this out of the hole. However, this is the hole the goes to the black rubber emergency drain hose. Mine was completely blocked with sand, etc. I scraped what I could out of the top of the hole, but couldn't get much deeper than about 10mm. So I blew (very hard) into the black hose. It took some effort but eventually the sand and stuff burst up out of the hole.
To fully flush the hole and hose, I started the machine on rinse. The water starts to go into the bowl and after a few seconds water comes rushing down the hole in the left side of the filter cavity (and out all over the floor!) this also lets water go down the hole to the drain hose. I blew into the hose again a couple more times and the water bubbled up out of the hole and it flushed out the hose nicely.
The propellor was clear, but I can remember previously removing a hair pin from it, so make sure it is spinning freely and if not look for something stopping it.
Also check the hole on the left side. I found a curtain ring jammed up in there. It took sime getting out. I had to get a wire coat hanger and shape it into a hook that I could feed up the hole a little way. Then I was able to pull the curtain ring out. I could feel the ring with my finger, but couldn't get hold of it. When I got the wire hook on it, I had to pull hard to get it out, but it eventually came and (I don't think) I did any damage to the machine.
Once I had cleared everything out of the filter cavity, I made sure the water all flowed nicely. Then I put it back together and it has been working fine every day since.

I hope this helps others one day. I also have my manual again; if anyone else wants to check it out let me know.

Samsung Fuzzy Logic Washing Machine will not rinse and is showing an OE sign . What is problem and how do i fix it

The OE code indicates an Overflow Error. Too much powder or liquid detergent may have been added. If you turn off power, wait 30 seconds, and turn on power, the pump should turn on to drain the machine. If this routine doesn't work it may be necessary to call for service.

Hi i have an LG 5kg Fuzzy logic top loader and it will wash and fill the water but wont rinse or spin it does not beep or anything it just stops and the time displays stays on the same numbers and i can...

Need to check during the wash cycle that the power goes to the motor during the rinse or spin cycle. Try and see if you can manually go to the spin cycle without the fuzzy logic. If so the program controller unit is a suspect as the microprocessor internal memory is faulty and executes the program with error or no output.
