SOURCE: lid locked no power
use a screwdriver in the crevice beneath the lid. Approx 4 inches from each side you will see a 1" silver piece of metal, push the tab towards the back of the machine. Once you get one side loose place something such as a screwdriver to keep it unlatched until you get the other side loose. The top should come open. And there is also a service book inside your washing machine, I fixed mine myself. Look at my other postings. Good luck!!

go to repairclinic.com to find the part. Have the make and model ready, and you have a good chance of finding the part there.

I have the same problem. A friend did too. My friend told me that this washer is a lemon - control panel costs over $600 - NEED TO BUY NEW MACHINE - would be cheaper in long run. Sears should have recalled this Lemon.

you could have problem with door lock. or lid switch. this part senses if the door is close.
if it is not functioning, it would interpret it as an open door and will not spin.will not drain either.
tnx 4 using fixya,
