Question about Car Speakers & Subwoofers

1 Answer

Hi I have a DB566USB. I got it installed professionally but was told never to go to the guys I went.. anyway, everything works fine.. except, once the stereo is on, none of the internal electrics work (ie: indicators on car (bmw 318i e46 1999 model) but externally, everything works fine - it's just the internals. If I remove the front, then push it back in without touching anything else, everything works again fine. I don't want to go back to the guys who did it... Any ideas? thanks.

I'm sorry to say you should't have went to "them guys". they must've crossed wires somewhere. you should be able to take it back and have it repaired at their expense

Sounds like possible fusible link is blown or lose?

Fusible links are different then regular fuses found in fuse box and are located under the hood near the battery ..

Did you just install the system ? or has system already been installed for a while and this problem just occurred ?

Sounds like it could be a setup issue (software) inside the stereo itself. Maybe try and check out if the manual says any thing about the issue, if not im sure your local stereo installers could help you out.

When i load a purchased cd everything works fine except there isnt any sound. The radio works great

Does it work for regular CD's?
If you have an amplified system, you may have the wrong wires hooked up for the "remote".
Swap power antenna and remote blue wires and it should fix the problem.

Is it the factory radio? If it is a replacement radio look for an inline fuse along the positive cable. Also wonder why the 15a fuse in in there if factory recommends 20a ? Perhaps someone was having issues before.

Last thought, if radio was on during the jumpstart it could have sustained damage.

Factory bose speakers wont run on a normal stereo

Im sorry to tell you, but they are telling you the true. Unless you have the factory Radio that comes with those speaker they are useless to you unless your car is the same make as the one that those speaker came out of. Each speaker have four wires coming form them? If they have only two wires on them you can use them in series with other in your home theather system.

Popping sound! please help - jl 500/1 and two jl w3v3 2ohm subs

no connection are good + to + -to - thats all that matters. either the speakers are blown or you need a stronger amp. since you already tried speakers probably need bigger amp. definitley not the box. no such thing as a break in period, are the subs 10 12 inch or what. you could try to bridge them too that means hook both up to the same +-terminals, 2 wires per screw. it usually isnt the way they hook them up, its the wires fuses etc that cause problems. what guage wires is the speaker wire, the power line etc. if you give me these guages i might be able to get somewere

Replacing factory speakers in a 2-door 97 Cavalier

Just make sure they are the same size as your stock speakers and they should just fit right in no customizing needed. For a 1997 Cavalier it's 4X6 in the front and 6X9 in the rear. Shouldn't be too hard just a couple screws and hooking up the existing wire to your new speakers.
