Hi, If there are no metal fasteners on or around the bulb to holld it in, it will need to be twisted. Try and put a towel on the lens to help you get a better grip.
It sometimes take a great amount of force to turn the lens.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: I have a Whirlpool oven
depending on the age of your oven you can still get a manual in english direct from whirlpool. You can download them for free. Just type in whirlpool.com, get onto their site, then type your model number in and click the literature download. If it's unavailable then you can go to parts direct.com and they have the actual manuals on most models. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: changing oven light bulb
The manual states to turn the cover counter clockwise. I was able to turn it about an inch and then it stopped turning. You really have to apply pressure, but it will turn more. It is similar to a tight light fixture. I was worried about breaking it, but it did finally loosen. I believe the replacement bulb is a 40 watt mini oven bulb also...
Hope this helps!

The light bulb assembly (bulb and socket are all one piece) is part number WB36X951.
It is located on the air duct assembly where the door switches are mounted.
You can see an exploded view diagram here.
You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb assembly.
Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.
See these links before proceeding:
The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.
Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.
If you're not able to find the bulb assembly at your local appliance parts store, you can order one here.
