Question about Acer Computers & Internet
I plugged in my Acer 8.9 laptop and it says, "restore system to factory default". I clicked on that and it says, "Partition failed to be formatted"....."Cannot format the object drive".....so I clicked OK and now it says, "RESTORE FAILED".......Click OK to restart the computer. So i did and it just goes back to the same screen as I stated above. Please help.....Thank you Yvette
Yvette,Your hard drive is one physical device but is divided in to two virtual drives. One side is for your data and windows to reside one. The other side keeps the factory defaults for your computer in case you get a virus or your windows installation is broken.
It seems like the restore partition for your drive may be erased, corrupt or damaged. Your other data my very well be okay and can possibly be recovered.
If your laptop came with a restore disk, then you can use that to erase your hard drive and re-install Windows and create a new restore partition.
I would suggest contacting Acer support at 1-800-571-2237 for a restore cd.
