If your thermostat uses batteries, they may have expired during the summer. If you install new batteries, the thermostat display should come on

My Honeywell programmable thermostat's display is blank and I do not have any heat?

The thermostat, depending on the model, normally does not get powered by batteries, they are for backup power. You might be losing 24 volt from the furnace, causing the thermostat to run on batteries.

I have a Honeywell rth7600 touchscreen thermostat. I have had it for a couple years and every once in a while when. I press the buttons too quickly to change the temp, the whole screen would go blank and...

You need a new tstat. For the time being turn power off to indoor unit, remove screen, wire red, green and yellow together at the tstat and turn power back on. This will bypass tstat and should bring on the cooling. Nothing will turn it off except the breaker but at least you will have cooling. Remember to turn power off when changing tstat.

Honeywell thermostat t8400c intermittent blank screen

It actually sounds like the batteries are going dead if the 24v from the furnace are not providing the power to the thermostat.

Robert Shaw thermostat suddenly went blank

Best solution GET RID IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE....Original 9420 installed 8-18-06 changed temperature by itself and would not allow any adjustments...this one replaced on 1-3-08 and this one is doing same thing. Heat set on 70 when I noticed it getting extremely hot I checked thermostat and it was on 99 and would not allow me to adjust. Switched to off position waited 25 minutes and cut back on to heat....still will not allow me to adjust down from 99.....THIS PIECE OF **** WILL BE REPLACED TOMORROW WITH ANOTHER TYPE OF THERMOSTAT.

Chronotherm III Thermostat Completely Blank Screen, No Heat

One of two things either the disply has gone out which is likely as it is a common failure for that thermostat or your heating unit is not sending control power. the older chronotherms were system (24volt ac) powered the new hardware/box store units are battery powered. Either way display should not be blank with fresh batteries. to get heat on remove the thermostat jumper or twist together the wire from the R terminal with the wire from the W terminal. note the color of each wire for later reference, heat up house disconnect wires from each other and go purchase a new thermostat
