Blowing oil on an 8HP craftsman snowblower

I had a carb problem that cantaminated the oil with gas which caused the oil to blow out a tube on the carb side. I drained all the oil out and refilled it with 5W 30 oil to the proper amount. It started first pull but the new oil is blowing out this same tube. Checking the filler rod the new oil has air bubbles in it. Where does this tube attach because I can't see where it would attach to anything or is it a breather hose that just hangs down? Will I damage the engine if I run it?

Thank you for your help. The tube is attached to the valve cover. Is it purging excess air and stop when this air clears?

That is a breather tube, I can't picture the motor off the top of my head but that tube is either connected to the valve cover or if the tube seems to go up over the motor then that tube goes down into the motor. If it's the one thats connected to the valve cover then it's possible there is to much oil in the valve box. If it's the one that seems to go up over the top and in then if your just alittle to much over full you'll get oil out of that tube cause that tube sits alittle above the oil level. If your oil level is right on the line then I would run it for a bit then check the oil level. If the level is still good then you should be ok but keep an eye on it if it continues to blow oil out I would take it in to get looked at futher.

    Your welcome and antime.

Yes and on some engines they atach the breather to the top of thecarb. to assist the carb. in fuel delivery kinda like a fuel pump or diaphram.

I have a toro snowblower. i cannot pull the pull cord. it feels like it is stuck.

Pull your spark plug out and see if the cord will pull out, if it does than that means your cylinder is full of gas which is a result of ethanol in the gas causing the needle valve to leak causing fuel to siphon from tank to cylinder, pull your carb off and put a carb kit in and you will be blowing snow in no time,if this isnt the problem then enjine may be seized up and its time to replace blower. Good Luck!

There is dirt blocking the fuel supply to the engine. You need to strip and clean the carb, preferably fitting a new carb kit at the same time. Clean out all the passages and orifices by blowing them out, but be careful of loosing small parts like filter screens and screws.

Had carburator cleaned out at service dept. it quit running. now it a lot of gas blowing out of engine when spark plug is out.

Well, that's flooding so when they cleaned the carb, they may have messed up something inside the carb...easy to do as they are very sensitive and temperamental and don't like harsh cleaners or high PSI blasts of compressed air. There are only 1 or 2 engine related issues that cause being a plugged or very dirty air filter. These carbs are a little complicated and have check valves in them that are easily damaged. Try a carb rebuild kit or diaghram kit if the thing has some substantial hours on it.

Your oil breather (on the side of the engine opposite the carb) may be malfunctioning/defective allowing the carb to **** oil from it. There is a breather tube that crosses over the top of the cylinder connecting the crankcase( oil) breather to the air filter housing. Check the oil level and the condition of the air filter and esp. the oil breather. It serves the same function as a PCV on a car engine.

Blowing gas out the air intake

Eight years is great for a weedeater! Blowing out can mean something is stuck in the reed valves, or one may be broken. They are just under the carb, usually. Be real careful with the gaskets. If you mess up any, silicone will do. Use good car gasket silicone.
