If it is out completely, try hitting your function key and one of the keys across the top, usually has a small screen/large screen icon. The function key to hit is the same color as the F-Key you are pressing, hold function key down, press proper F-key. IF still no picture, take out the battery and unplug. Wait an hour or so and plug in without the battery and try again.

My laptop was hit by a power surge through my modem, then i had a loud taping sound coming from my front speakers and now none of my speakers are working and my headphone jack does not work either.

the power surge probably did damage to your motherboard. if it only blew out your sound then you are lucky. most motherboards dont survive this well. since this is a laptop there isnt anything you can do about it. sorry

Need to confirm how to properly connect the computer cables to a Belkin Outlet Surgemaster Energy Saving Surge Protector (e.g. laptop power cord in the "Master slot" and the Dell monitor display...

Hello,
Sounds like you got it right. When the Laptop draws power it will trigger the Surgemaster to turn on the monitor. The only problem you might have, is being you are using a laptop the power supply might not draw enough power to trigger the energy saving features.
These devices work the best when a tower PC is plugged into the Master slot.

We had a momentary power failure (breaker tripped). Once power was restored, the radio works but the clock does not. No display at all. Any idea?

It sounds like the outage caused a surge in power and damaged your clock. I recommend connecting all your equipment to surge protector power strips.

Panasonic SA-PT480 will not turn on after power outage while REQ displayed on unit display

it sounds to me like you have endured a power surge and it has cooked the unit // i would replace it as surges do so much damage it normally writes the unit off but your power company is liable to replace it (if it was a surge)

Compaq Armada E500 PC Notebook Display Completly Out

Hi Jeryl; Im sorry to have to te3ll you but when the power went out it sent a surge to the external monitor . This blew the monitor which in turn blew your video display. This is a not so uncommon problem with laptop displays. They are very fragile. Especially when it comes to power urges. The only way you can fix this is to replace the monitor. Even this may not fix the problem. It could be any one of a few thousand parts inside your laptop. Best advice would be to let your local repair shop do the repair. Hope this has helped. If it has please accept this answer. Thank you; HELP2DIY

STATIC CHARGE

First thing I'd check is the powerbar. Did you plug the TV into the outlet direct? What caused the breaker to trip? If it was an overload by using too much current, there is a possibility that there is a loose connection in your house wiring causing arcing and the interiference lines you're seeing on the display. You may even want to try the set in a different outlet if the powerbar checks ok, and if the set then works fine, get an electrican ASAP!
