SOURCE: Fault code F498 on panasonic

as far as i understand, it is caused by dry joints - poor workmanship. Try taking the top off and pressing down on right-hand side the green circuit board with the dvd in standby. Then switch on. If that works then what i did was to take all the screws out and jiggle it then put all screws back except the one to the left of the board, next to the brown board. seems to work now. Tip found on another forum, no credit to me

SOURCE: My Panasonic DVD/CD PLAYER DVD-RV32 displays F498

Hi,

F498 is a communication failure between DVD and Main micro. The only solution would be to resolder flash ROM on DVD PCB . If that does not work, you need to replace DVD pcb. However, 99% of the time resoldering would fix the problem. It's a job for an engineer with smd reflow equipment. The solder to the Flash ROM IC37001, needs to be reflowed. If it still won't power up, the decoder pcb. would be the next suspect. If you have electronics repair experience and would be able to do the repair, revert and i would be able to send you a link to buy service manual that would be required and would be able to add few more details.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I am unable to play DVD's and receive error message HD7. How can I fix this? I own Panasonic DVD-RV32 player.

I think you mean H07 - this means the traverse unit (which contains the spindle motor and the laser in one assembly) has failed. The spindle motor is the most likely problem; unfortunately this is not repairable at consumer level, it would need to go to an authorised service workshop where the whole unit would be replaced in the player, which would include a brand new laser. The other snag is the cost - a new traverse unit can cost around $200 + labour (including alignment and firmware upgrades)!

Save yourself the agony, and simply replace the whole player - cheaper than repairs. The RV32 was not Panasonic's best DVD player model.

Dvd rv32 keeps saying hot and wolnt play dvds

I think you mean the front display shows 'H07' which means the laser/spindle motor assembly (as one part - also known as a traverse unit) has failed. H07 is a common error code with the Panasonic series of DVD playback decks. Because the traverse unit is a multi-operation device, and because the player is a budget model, the repair/replacement of this part to restore your player back to fully functional condition as well as labour costs could prove expensive - hardly worthwhile. It seems Panasonic have been using substandard components within their products for years now, designed to fail just outside their minimum warranty period.

Code h07 comes up when i insert a disk. i have the panasonic dvd-rv32

This is the major deffect design in the spindle motor.
Take the cover out put some WD40 in the spindle motor, leave it soak for about 20-30 mins.should work, after the motor it oil up.

DVD PROBLEM

Hi,

Often on Panasonic DVDs, error code H07 indicates that the spindle motor is not turning. The spindle motor is relatively small and expectedly wuld develop hardware problems over time. In some cases, a temporary remedy wold be to clean and lubricate the inside of the motor. Here is my post on similar problems with spindle motors of another electronic device, while here is an illustrated how to.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

RE: Panasonic DVD-RV32

hi,
you need to study the manual/ leaflet with the remote Control.
Usually theres A Way, to auto-scan for the digits.
i.e First Press ABC 1 search ( Example Only )
this will instruct your remote to find the first digit.
Then Press Save. Digit 1 Is Now saved ( Example )
Then Press ABC 2 Search. et,c et,c.
Refer To The Universal remote For Instructions On Scanning.
