Depending on the variant of the TI-36X, it's marked either "(-)" or "+/-" and located on the bottom row between the decimal point and the "=".

How is this the answer?

Start with the more complicated part. Use parentheses to make sure the correct argument is entered.
1-1.00625^(-360)= the result is stored in ANS memory
Then use 2nd Ans [x:times] 1096.875 = 1227.121463

For the minus sign in front of 360, use the change sign (negate) key marked (-) or (+/-)

Hi, how do i use casio fx82ms to raise a figure eg. to the power of 4?There's no xto the power of y button....

There should be key marked [Y to the x] or [^]. If exponent is negative use the change sign key (-) not the MINUS sign. You will have to use the [^] key if you calculate roots of order higher than 3. Example 7th root of 353 =(353)[^](1/7)

Hi I'm trying to find the reciprocal sign on my Casio fx-300es

If you mean "1-over-x" then it's the key marked "x-superscript-negative-one" just right and below the big round cursor pad. If you mean "reciprocal sign" more commonly referred to as "negative" or "change-sign" then it's the key marked "(-)" two keys above the "7" key.

How do i put and x or y or m into and equation

Rename your variable (unknown) X, because the calculator takes X as the default unknown. It will ask you "Solve for X?"
the 7, the second minus sign, 3 and 11 use the relevant keys.
For the first minus sign use the negation key or change sign (-)
For the variable X, examine the calculator keys on the row where the parentheses are. To the right corner of the key area there is a symbol in the same color as the ALPHA key. I believe the X is under the right parenthesis, or thereby.
To enter the X variable you press [ALPHA][ )]. To enter the = sign, you press [ALPHA] [CALC].

To execute the solve command, press [SHIFT] [CALC] and you will be prompted " Solve for X?"

To the power of a negative

Hello,
Use the small (-) sign sometimes labelled [(-)] or [+/-] and put the whole exponent netween parentheses 18 [y to the x] [(] [(-)] 3 [)] . On some calculators you enter the small - signe after the value of exponent,
18 [y t x] 3 (-) [Enter] should give you 1.7146E-4
In summary the small minus sign; the whole negative exponent between parentheses.
Hope it helps.
