Question about Clarke Air Tools & Compressors
My cousin has a Clarke se14 AB compessor that I am trying to repair for him. One of the capacitors blown on the motor. The motor is fitted with two capacitors the OK one is marked 220uF but the blown one had been painted over and when the paint was removed by my cousin he also removed the value markings any one know what the second cap value should be? I have emailed clarke but no reply.
On electric motors with two capacitors, one is a start capacitor, the other is a run capacitor. Start capicitors have plastic cases and are rated from 200mf to 400mf and higher depending on the size of the motor. Run capacitors are in the 20mf to 40mf range and usually have metal cases. If you have an electric motor service center in the area they can recommend what size you should use for the size (HP) motor you have.
