Question about Pelonis Disc Furnace Heater

Open Question

Don't Light a Cigarette around the B2-IVA Disc Heater

I had it sitting on floor near my desk. I quickly lit a cigarette using a long nose lighte. A fine line of flame connected from the heater to my sweater and caught my sweater on fire!

Totally nuts! Scary.

Try calling 1-866-876-4332 ext 224 for tech help, it worked for me.  I only needed a temp
setting/off switch to fix mine.

Pelonis heaters generally have safety devices built in to them for if they fall over and such. This model may have other safety devices, I would check it out in the manual. If its completely dead in the camper, there could be a problem with the outlet in the camper.

Heater pilot light will not stay lit after knob is released

99% of the time it is just dirt and dust in the pilot light. NOT a bad thermocouple! These units generate their own power through the pilot light and it has to burn perfectly. Turn off gas supply, remove the cover and the pilot light assembly, including disconnecting the tiny gas line from the gas valve. Blow compressed air in, around and through it to get dust out. Replace everything, use soap bubbles at gas fittings to leak test and light the pilot. I bet it stays lit.

Floor heater won't light

At the gas valve on the furnace, jump the two connections where the thermostat wires attach to, I think TH and TP may be marked on terminals. If it lights, you have bad wire(s) going to thermostat. If it still refuses to light, you may be looking at a new gas valve.

Empire DV-210: Pilot light will light and stays lit, but when I

The thermocoupler is no good. It's that bulb sitting in the pilot flame. when it goes out it shuts everything doen in the main valve. It has to be kept hot by the pilot, that's how it know whether or not it is safe to open the main .

Stays lit for 25 minutes and shuts off

How large and sealed of an area are you using it in? I ask because those units have a low oxygen sensor which will shut it down if there is not enough oxygen in the space.(kinda prevents that pesky suffocation thing). Otherwise if using it in larger cold spaces, the issue is can be from the smaller tanks. As mentioned above, a larger tank can solve this, because these units have a fairly good input rate, which will cause the smaller tanks to freeze, and lower the propane temperature and evaporation rate, basically runs out of gas until the tank warms back up.

Vacuum the back of the heater near the vent pipe and the sides near the floor.
