Question about Heating & Cooling
The heater has been sitting in the closet all summer. I pulled it out yesterday at pugged it in but I started smelling the dust burning. I unplugged it and noticed it was full of dust and I couldnt figure out how of if the cage was removable. It doesnt appear to be. Please Help!
**** it out with a vacuum cleaner or put it on blow and blow it out.

SOURCE: Burning smell.
sounds like a bad wiring connection. you could take it to an electrician/small appliance repair shop and have it inspected. or just replace it. wouldn't use it as is though as this sounds like a high resistance connection and if so is a fire/shock hazard.

kevin, you might find that your inlet manifold is seeping oil/diesel, this is common on berlingo`s although you dont mention if it is a diesel, if so then its drips on the exhaust for the first part of your journey and then maybe when you go up or down steep hills.I changed the inlet manifold gaskets but to no avial and every diesel of the same age as yours seems to have the same problem,i find a bit of engine degreaser and a wash off with hose will settle the problem for a while, i hope this is of some use to you , Robert .
