SOURCE: Burning smell.

sounds like a bad wiring connection. you could take it to an electrician/small appliance repair shop and have it inspected. or just replace it. wouldn't use it as is though as this sounds like a high resistance connection and if so is a fire/shock hazard.

SOURCE: The heater on my 52 plate Citroen Berlingo van

kevin, you might find that your inlet manifold is seeping oil/diesel, this is common on berlingo`s although you dont mention if it is a diesel, if so then its drips on the exhaust for the first part of your journey and then maybe when you go up or down steep hills.I changed the inlet manifold gaskets but to no avial and every diesel of the same age as yours seems to have the same problem,i find a bit of engine degreaser and a wash off with hose will settle the problem for a while, i hope this is of some use to you , Robert .

I pluged the heater in after sitting over the summer got it 7 months ago, it is making a noise like when you fry french fries model number ho-0250 h anyone know why this is

electric heaters sitting unused for long periods , collect dust on the elements and moisture from the atmosphere
when turned on the dust burns off and the elements crackle as the moisture boils off
it should stop after around 5 minutes but if it doesn't then the next step is to take it to an appliance repair shop for an electrical check

Why do my heater sparkles after i turn it on?

Wellllllll....... if its what I think it is you are asking, dust particulate circulating through the air lands on the elements in the 'off' cycle and burn off as soon as the electric element gets hot. Usually the first time a heater is turned on after sitting idle over the summer you notice that 'odd' smell .... that's the accumulation of dust over a long period.

Dryer problems

You have a bad wheel, My guess is the one closet to the heater assembly. To get into it you remove the top, then the controls, then the front panel, then the drum. It is best to remove the unit from the closet and take it outside so that you can clean the vent. The vent is probably blocked and made the dryer run overheat and melt the wheel. You service manual might just be at my service manual and video link appliancejunkgoogle drive. AJgoogle drive is full of service manuals for american appliances.

HOW TO STOP DUST BUILDUP IN AC CLOSET

Seal closet with caulk or mastic or foam.including top, sides, platform and around base of unit. If base is not sealed it can pull from outside of closet through door. If base is sealed but top and sides of closet are not then return air can pull from inside closet from attic or inside walls. Either will turn your door casing into a filter.

How do you clean this thing. I love the safety of it but can not figure out the best way to clean it since the cage doesn't come off.

Use a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) to blow the dust and lint off. be sure to do it outside, though. You don't want the dust settling back inside the house.

Blower didnt work yesterday morning but in the afternoon it did. Now dosent work again. The fuse is ok.

I assume you mean the heater - it could be something is lodged in the squirrel cage - take it over a bumpy road and try again. I had this happen with my prior car - something from the glove box fell behind the box and got trapped in cage - we pulled it out and it worked fine.

the blower motor is under the passenger side dash board.

Good luck!

Heater fan dont work all the time on my 94 volvo 960

After some years, the the filters (made of foam) in the HVAC system can become dry-rotted. Debris from the rotted foam, as well as dust, can accumulate in various places within the system. Unfortunately, the motor housing of the blower is one place in which the dust and debris accumulate very well. To fix the problem, you have to remove the cover from the blower, and vacuum clean it. The blower is behind the glove box, on the lower right side.

A word of caution: The fan cage (which looks like a gerbil wheel) can become brittle, over the years. After cleaning out the blower motor, the blower will be able to freely spin at full speed, again. This may be too much for an old brittle fan. If your old blower can't take the force of spinning at full speed, you will hear it break apart inside its chamber. I discovered this, the hard way. After cleaning the dust and debris from my Volvo's blower motor, the blower spun at full speed and the fan broke apart. So, I had to buy and install a whole new blower.

No cooling

"You forgot the "first rule , check to see if everythings is working! If the filter was dirty , then you skipped the second line of defense to prevent dust from going into the vents is the squirrell cage blades. Air flows thru the filter first,,,2ond, thru the squirrell cage...& 3rd thru the coils last. Make sure the outside is working fine.
