My Philips LX3000D has exactley the same problem,Picture but no sound.

I found that the small radio fuses on the pcb had blown, But after replacing them for new fuses of the same rating, they blew again as soon as i swiched it on.

Can anyone Help with a solution to this problem ?

We also have the Philips HTS3450 and have no audio. My husband called Philips and was told they have never heard of that problem.

I have been quite involved with a sound problem in my HTS3450 (search for the topic "sound in only 3 channels"), and I learned that when you are in the setup menu the speaker volume will be greyed out if there is a disc in the tray...remove the disc, wait for the "disc loading" dialogue to switch to "no disc", the try accessing the setup menu again. Other than that I have no advise if you once had proper function after moving the system. Check out my experiences with the cable connecting the sub to the DVD/receiver in my postings. Good luck. I have the home theater system model HTS3440/37. I've had this for a couple of years, and now all of a sudden, it won't read any discs. It comes up after a couple of seconds and says "No Disc"....

Well, let's see.

A) A whole used HTS3440 is available on eBay for $102 delivered.

B) A compatible HTS3450 base unit goes for $79 delivered...

C) Connect a new or existing outboard DVD/BluRay player to it.

Proprietary connectors usually imply proprietary function. Home Theater in a Box runs that way and are typically Not Economically Repairable.

Though it may be possible to construct cabling that adapts 'normal' standardized audio to your HTIB speakers, is it really worth it?

I'd got with option C as it would be a better investment in equipment with longevity and forward compatibility.

Hi I have a Philips HTS3450 system but lost the Subwoofer, Is there a way that I can connect the Subwoofer connection to my Panasonic Home theator system to get the sound? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you mean by "connecting the Subwoofer connection to my Panasonic Home Theater System"

If you want to watch something on the Philips and send the audio to your Panasonic Home Theater you can buy a VGA to AV Adapter Cable. Just connect it to the back of the Philips HTS3450, get an AV cable (red, white, yellow) and run it to the Panasonic.

I recommend buying it here: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=212966742

yes.modern TVs have good speakers, and the bravia has a good set, with adjustable sound fields, plus a decent amp in them.just use good cables, and use component video cables,or HDMI if yr DVD has it.most have 1080 video resolution nowadays

Philips HTS3450, sound cutting on and off during DVD playback?

If the Video portion of the DVD is running smoothly and the audio is cutting out, you've got an internal problem. You can try running a Laser Lens cleaner thru it, you can get them at just about any retail store, get one that uses fluid, 15-20. Good maintanance habit, run it thru a couple times then try a DVD. If it still has an issue, it's more cost effective to replace it than repair it, a repair would run 100-150 on average. Hope this helps

Philips home theater system

Make sure there is a video cable of some type running from the back of the Philips to the television, and make sure the TV is on the correct source channel. Make sure the home theater system is in disc mode.
