I have a Frigidaire FDB510LCB0 dishwasher and I am having to turn the water valve off after each use because the water won't stop running into the dishwasher.I seen where you said it could be the inlet valve where is the inlet valve located on the dishwasher and is it hard to replace? I have looked all over the internet for diagrams to find where the inlet valve is, but I haven't had much luck.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hello ddux97 - I understand your dishwasher has power but
will not fill with water. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may
help you resolve this issue:
• Make sure water supply is turned on. (First
check for shut off valve under the kitchen sink).
• Check the house circuit breaker or fuse box,
reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
• Check inlet hose and make sure it's not twisted.
• Does float overfill protector (mushroom shaped
object in tub) move freely? This is located in the bottom left front corner of
• If this is a new install, then make sure the
unit is not pressed up against the cabinet and the fill tube is not squeezed
• Make sure the electrical wires going to the
water inlet valve have not come off. It is best to turn off power to the
dishwasher before reconnect wires, it doesn't matter which terminal is off both
need to be connected.
• Make sure the drain hose is installed correctly.
If the drain hose is routed under the floor as the dishwasher fills water can
be drawn from the tub and appear to have never filled.
• Some models of Frigidaire dishwashers use a
water pressure switch that will shut off the water valve if the tub over fills.
These models do not have floats.
I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small
check you water source, check for crimped hoses, check water source valve, these are all outside of your dishwasher, internally it may be the solenoid which allows water into the unit. did it quit all of a sudden/ then i suspect a internal part failure.. RB
thats the water valve .its under the dishwasher .its blue ,whtie or yellow .has two wires to it and your house water supply connects to it and rubber hose going up to dishwasher.you can do it God bless ,tom
It looks like your inlet water valve is stuck after it powers on which means you have to replace it. If you can provide me a model and serial number of the dishwasher, I can provide you with the correct part number and a breakdown diagram. You can find the model number on the door frame of the dishwasher.
the first thing that your dishwasher does when you turn it on is drain when you turn it on you hear a motor running then it stops then it fills start the washer when it stops to start filling open the door should be no water in the unit if there is you have a drain problem and in fact are washing your dishes in dirty water can be several things that can cause drain problems a piece of food blocking the line at the sink where the drain goes in if its run to a disposer there is a knockout plug that should be removed just stick your finger in there to see if it was removed get you installation instructions and read the part about not removing the drain loop but just about all the time installers will lol if you cant find the instructions go to www.frigidaire.com under customer support can down load them there let me know what you find
TURN POWER TO OFF ... REMOVE THE LOWER RACK. THE SPINNING SPRAY BAR USUALLY WILL LIFT SRAIGHT-UP AND OUT ...
INSPECT TO SEE IF ANY THING IS IN THERE TO PREVENT IT FROM SPINING FREELY ...
THEY SPIN BY WATER PRESSURE SO THE NEXT THING TO CHECK IS THE WATER SUPPLY VALVE (MOST OF THE TIME IT IS RIGHT UNDER YOUR SINK.) AND THE STARAINER is LOCATED WHERE IT CONECTS TO THE DISH WASHER.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BUCKET AND RAGS HANDY FOR SPILLS... CAREFULLY TURN THE VALVE OFF AND REMOVE THE COMPRESSION FITTING NUT THAT IS ON THE "SIDE CLOSEST TO THE WASHER".... THEN CRACK THE VALVE OPEN AND FILL THE BUCKET UP A FEW TIMES TO ENSURE GOOD WATER FLOW.
TURN VALVE "OFF" AND GO TO WERE THE LINE OR HOSE CONNECTS TO THE WASHER. REMOVE THE CONNECTION ... INSIDE YOU SHOULD FIND A STRAINER THAT MAYBE CLOGGED UP. CLEAN-IT AND MAKE SURE TO TIGHTEN ALL THE CONNECTIONS BEFORE STARTING A TRIAL RUN.
NOTE: THERE IS A SOLENOID INSIDE THE MACHINE THAT CAN STICK AND GET CLOGGED BUT USUALLY ITS THE VALVE OR THE STRAINER.
GOOD LUCK AND STAY DRY ... Joe_Rex
