Congratulations on your new audio system.
I will give you 4 scenarios:
1st. From your head unit, use the Fader to separate the front speakers from the back. (only front speakers playing) now using the balance separate the left from the right so only one speaker is playing. If the sound becomes more bass filled then you have a phasing problems which could cause cut out (protection) issues. Do the same for the back speakers, BOTTOM LINE: make sure that your connections from amplifier to speakers are all correctly connected where they should be.You will know that your speakers are correctly connected when the bass is richer while both speakers are playing as opposed to more bass when only one is playing.
2nd. Your head unit RCA output is of a certain voltage (V) [signal strength]. (1.2V, 2V, 4V, 5V) Lets say that your head unit has a 4V output, To match this up with your amplifier you must adjust the gain control on your amplifier to be at the 4V position. If your voltage output does not match your input voltage and the signal in result that is being sent is too high for the settings on the amplifier, you will over voltage your amplifier making it distort then heat up and most likely start cutting out to protect it self. this could also potentialy damage your speakers.
3rd. Check that the speaker cables are not shorting on metal anywhere, that includes the speaker terminals not touching the frame of the location that they have been installed.
4th. The cable size you are using is not adequate for the power needs of your amp.
hope this helps.
Start with the "AUDIO" button. Press it until FAD appears in the display. Press the up/down buttons to adjust front/rear balance. FAD:F15-FAD:R15 is displayed as the front/rear balance is moved from front to rear. FAD:0 is the center position with the balance equal between the front/rear speakers.
Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa".
The P.BASS function is only available with 2 channel LPCM sources such as mp3,Divx,cd and wma. Press P.BASS button and "POWER BASS ON" will be displayed on the screen. The P.bass does not work with DSP/EQ or DOLBY PRO LOGIC ll modes. If you press P.BASS in the DSP/EQ mode, the DSP/EQ mode is automatically shut off and the P. BASS function comes on. The DSP/EQ function is only available in STEREO mode. Press the PL ii mode button to show STEREO on the display. This feature works with CDs, MP3-CDs, 2 channel DVD-Audio, DivX and Dolby Digital discs. When playing a DVD disc encoded with two or more channels, multi-channel mode will be selected automatically and DSP/EQ function does not work.
Put the system in standby (ie off but plugged
in) then whilst pressing down the record button and the X-BASS/DEMO
button, press the PRESET DOWN (i.e.left hand one) button until "CLEAR
ALL" appears, then power on your system.
This gave me some functionality back i.e. i can play normal wave CD's but not mp3 ones....
I believe that there is an,open connection in your system specifically in your radio. your CD player still plays because it is in another circuit though they share the same speakers. Your rear speaker is also i believe is disconnected. Pls. check your radio components if there are parts that are not functioning.
If this be of help or need more help pls. contact me and i would be glad to help.
P.S. please rate me.
I have the same problem, it works occasionly when I move the unit around, I think it has something to do with the chasi ground, Right now I have it set decently loud to the point were I can hear the music over other noises, when I hit he power button it lowers enough to talk of a cell phone or have a conversation in the car, its not a fix, but it works as a temporary solution
Hi there , heres a simple case of the recording format on the cds , its likely that your daughter's cds are recorded on a computer in a format probably mp3 or higher speed thats not compartible with your boom box . The solution to this is to record your cds in Normal format , and they will surely play !
