It can't skip on radio. I would theorize if you have a heavy bass system you either have a loose connection or the faceplate contacts are not good and vibrations are causing a temporary loss in connectuon. The other option would be a speaker that is shorting at a specific volume. The short is causing the internal amp to shut done (until the short is gone) to protect itself. Disconnect all speakers and connect just one until the problem returns. This way you can eliminate which speakers are good. Also make sure the ohms f your speakers are within tolerance of the radio...no lower than 4 ohms each.
Hello.... it sounds like you have the remote wire for the amplifier hooked to the solid blue wire behind the radio. You need to hook to the blue/white wire behind the radio. What happens is that the solid blue wire turns on the power antenna when you are listening to the radio and it turns off (lets the antenna down) when you listen to a cd. There should be a blue/white wire that is the amplifier turn on wire that will stay on as long as the head unit is on. Hope this helped!
Start with the "AUDIO" button. Press it until FAD appears in the display. Press the up/down buttons to adjust front/rear balance. FAD:F15-FAD:R15 is displayed as the front/rear balance is moved from front to rear. FAD:0 is the center position with the balance equal between the front/rear speakers.
Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa".
I have the same problem, it works occasionly when I move the unit around, I think it has something to do with the chasi ground, Right now I have it set decently loud to the point were I can hear the music over other noises, when I hit he power button it lowers enough to talk of a cell phone or have a conversation in the car, its not a fix, but it works as a temporary solution
Some 4-Runners have a factory system that uses a separate amplifier to power the rear speakers. In this case you need to activate the amplifier using the blue/white remote output from your Alpine deck. It sounds like the wire that activates the amplifier is currently attached to the deck's blue "power antenna" output, so that the amplifier is only on when the tuner is selected.
Disconnect whatever is attached to the blue wire behind the deck, and attach it to the blue/white wire instead. That should solve the problem.
