SOURCE: reciprocating saw problem

OK just looked at the Searspartsdirect.com website and there are 2 parts that I think it could possibly be. One is the SHOE part # 399725-00 list 4.86 in stock and or guard 157325-00 list 4.59 also in stock. I would suggest that you go to this site and confirm which one you need, but the shoe is the piece that does ride against the work surface. Good Luck and let me know if I can help further

SOURCE: reciprocating saw only works at certain angles

It sounds like the cord has a broken wire in it or there is a loose wire at the switch. Unplug tool and if you are comfortable in removing the handle halves look at the switch wiring and I pull gently on the wires from the cord to see if a can pull one out. Let me know if you still need assistance and I will go into more detail.

SOURCE: clutch adjustment on ryobi reciprocating saw # rj160v

The Ryobi RJ160V does not have a clutch, it has a direct drive system: the armature has a gear pressed on the end of it that turns a bevel gear with an off-set pin on it. This pin fits into a slot on the end of the saw bar assembly which is what you attach the blade to. If you have slipping it could be stripped armature gear teeth or bevel gear teeth or both or the pin on the bevel gear is broke off.

HOW DO YOU put new boot back on ryobi reciprocating saw?

No. You spin it onto the tool clockwise. When you get far enough on, the lever will slip right into the slot.

I like to take my shoe off, and use my foot to hold the hand grip while sitting down. This allows me to use both hands to twist the rubber grip off/on.

Ryobi reciprocating saw motor rund but blade doesnt

A Ryobi might not have that nut. They are likley a ring gear drive which is different. I'd open it up and look at the gears. Make sure no teeth are missing and that none are worn down. If they're worn they would probably look rounded. If the gears are bad the saw is more than likely not worth repair. Ryobi saws are not very expensive compared to the cost of repair parts.

How do I remove the rubber boot which covers the front of the Rigid R3002 recip. saw?

The cover is a very tight, stretch-fit boot. After removing the shoe release lever, shoe pin and shoe assembly you have to pull, stretch and pry the boot off. It helps a lot to have someone assist The boot is fairly tough rubber but be careful not to tear it. It helps to have the boot warm to almost hot so it stretches easier.
