SOURCE: How do i remove the cover to check the fanbelt on

Hi,
Did you check the belts that go around the end of the brushes?

There is a service panel that remove with a coin. It is located at the rear, bottom of the vacuum.

The star shaped screws you mentioned are Torx screws. You can get a set of torx drivers at any hardware or home improvement store.

Hope this helps, if it does, please place a vote for me.

Good luck,

Handie Andie

It is not sucking at all

So your machine sucks :>) Sorry I couldn't resist.

Remove the bag. Turn the machine over and remove the base plate. At one side of the brush towards the back, you will see the hole that all the fluff goes through, to the motor and then onwards and upwards to the bag. That is where your blockage will be. If you can get it all your can make a little hook from a wire hanger. You can also put the machine outside and run it without the bag. This creates a lot more force and will often dislodge blockages. Remove as much as you can first though.

How do I replace the drive belt

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Changing your belt is crucial in keeping your unit running efficiently. It is recommended for belts to be replaced every 6 months.

To get access to your unit's belt, your floor base should have two plastic screws that will allow you to remove the roller brush casing. After removing the casing, you will be able to see your roller brush, now it's a good chance to, with a pair of scissors, cut any tangled hair strands or left over debris that is tangled in your roller brush. There are also four more screws that need to be removed to get access to the belt and the clutch assembly.

The roller brush clips in onto the floor base with one clip on each side, you can gently but easily unclip it. Remove the cover on top of the belt and the bearings with a screwdriver, remove the bearing end caps to reveal your unit's belt to be replaced.

You can purchase direct your replacement bags and filters from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10
