Problem with acoustic solutions ds533 home theater speaker system. when powered on it takes close to 30mins to produce sound and the sound is very poor as it has humming or static effect if on stereo or Dolby and fairly good sound when set to pro logic. what could be the problem?

Sounds like the main amplifier section circuit inside the system is damaged. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Philips.

Is the microphone live? If so, what you're getting is called "acoustic feedback". Any room sound gets in the mic, gets amplified, comes out the speakers, and then gets picked up by the mic again. Louder and louder until you get to the maximum your system can do.

The solution is to turn it down. . . until it stops.

check your surround sound settings. Switch the speakers and test it again. if the problem persist, take it to your store and ask them to test it.

Check the wiring to that speaker and then the conections

Your systemn is designed and built to perform 2.1 sound. If you want 5.1 sound you can do 2 things, connect another pair of speakers to the same speakerterminal as your front speakers, however this produces 5.1 stereo sound and not 5.1 surround sound.
You can buy a new system that has the proper connections.

This set will not have the proper decoding software to produce 5.1 surroundsound. sorry.

Ah that's the problem, Pioneer has been famous for audio problems. Your model is a newer one that uses a system scanner to detect audio problems. Check your wires and see if they are connected correctly. To be honest, as an expert on Home Theater systems, Pioneer is not the best way to go, Boston Acoustics is a really good system, pricey, but good.
