Question about Krups XP2070 10 cup Coffee Maker/15 bar Pump Espresso

Krups XP2070 PROBLEM: Water leaking onto the counter when making coffee. After a short while of this, the unit stopped turning on altogether. REASON: The most common reason for this problem is a loose coupling at the top of the coffee water reservoir (top right). The seal becomes loose there and causes water to drip down inside back of the unit. If you start moving the machine around while it's wet, water may get on the electrical power board located DIRECTLY under the drip, but mounted underneath a metal plate. This will permanently disable your machine. SOLUTION: If your machine stopped turning on, you've probably already lost it. However, you can create a tigher seal at the loose coupling by doing the following: Open the lid to the coffee reservoir. Using a flathead screwdriver, pop off the helmet-looking cover attached to the cover's hinge. Put a thin flat piece of rubber no thicker than 1/8" into the helmet. Replace the helmet. If the rubber is thick enough, it will now have a tigher seal than before and water will not leak out anymore.

Thanks for the fix, are you saying to replace the clear rubber O-ring with a thicker rubber piece?

If the water is leaking from the back left side of the unit then the seal/valve to the expresso water container is lose and leaking. you can either go the warranty route or open the back up and tighten the two screws holding the seat/valve in place.

Keurig Leaks Water Before Brewing

If it is in warranty, this unit needs factory services. Unfortunately the cheap labor and rapid production rates are more important to the company than Quality.

Cuisinart DCC-2000 coffee maker LEAKS all over my counter . How can I make it stop?

There are a few issues that could be causing this depending where it is leaking from.

The most common leak occurs from coffee grounds. If you over fill the basket or if you are using too fine of a grind (especially if you grind your own coffee) it can clog the filter.

Try using less coffee grounds. The MAX recommended capacity is 15 tablespoons. If you are grinding your own coffee, try a less fine grind. If using already ground coffee, try switching to a different brand.

If this does not work or you are leaking from another spot, clarify and we can try to nail down what the issue may be.

It leaks a lot of water. I Checked the water container, the O ring seems okay. It does not leak by idle sitting but as soon as I make coffee the whole table is full of water.

Hi I would suspect that you have a ruptured tube inside. When the machine starts to pump it looses water from the tube onto the counter. It can be fixed.

HAMILTON BEACH BREWSTATION LEAKS FROM SPOUTS

I had the same problem with this same machine. On this model there is a spring-loaded piece of plastic that operates the pouring of the coffee. After a few months of regular use, there is a design flaw in this piece that wears out prematurely, causing the pour to slow down. This is why the stream runs towards the machine and not in your cup.

Eventually the plastic piece will break at the weak point and will stop pouring altogether. To make matters worse, HB uses a weird screw that you cannot turn unless you have the right bit, and, once you do finally get to the piece, there is no where to order a replacement.

Summary: Hamilton Beach built an intentional flaw that is difficult/impossible to repair so you will need to purchase another machine in under a year.

I have a krups xp2070 that i just put a new motor in. When making espresso, the water pump does not turn off. Is it related to the little relay switch that connects to one side of the pump?

The unit is programmed to operate the pump for a very specific period of time depending on the function. Power to the pump is provided by the main power module but controlled by the control module. Either the module is not sending the right signal or the relay on the power module is stuck on. You could try programming the espresso time to reset the pumping time. Will the pump stop if you press the espresso 1/2 cup button again?

Bunn coffee brewer leaking

Is this a lot of water, or just a small amount.

As the unit sits over time and runs heating cycles, it may have some vapor come out of the vents. That will cool and collect around the unit.

try turning the unit off for the weekends. If you still have water around the unit, then it may have a leak in the tank.

When I try to make espresso with my new XP2070, water comes out through the steam arm and not through the nozzles. I've tried it without coffee and all the water still comes out through the steam/hot water...

David, the XP2070 won't operate properly until you've set the clock on the unit.

In case you don't have an owner's manual, I've attached a copy of the manual from the Krups site that you can download and print for free.

Please take some time to reaquaint yourself with the setup and procedure for using the expresso portion of the unit, as you might just have some sequence issues that is preventing the expresso from getting brewed.

Otherwise, it could be that the unit has a faulty seal in the pressure vessel that isn't allowing the expresso side to function properly, hence the reason the water might be coming out of the frothing tube instead of through the expresso brewing section.

Espresso function problem Krups XP2070

Most likely it starts the espresso but stops after a few second because the unit is not getting the water flow information or the unit is blocked. You will know that you have a blockage because not water will come out of the espresso filter but most likely you get some liquid during the 4-10 seconds it operates. My unit has the same problem and I fixed by getting a new flow meter. This unit is installed after the water tank and has wires (3) going to the the power module.
