First determine if windows is really hung.

Restart the laptop and keep pressing the F8 function key. You will get a menu. Try the safe mode option by selecting it with arrow keys and pressing enter. Click on Yes when it asks the question.

If Windows runs okay in safe mode, reboot and try starting normally without pressing any keys). If again it won't start, then go back to safe mode and when asked the Yes/No question, reply with a No and it will ask you to do a system restore. Just select a recent restore point say one or 2 days ago or the most recent and select restore. It will take some time and reboot the system. Now everything should be hopefully okay.

Try booting into "safe mode" before you do any repairs on it.

Start your computer and hit F8 every second until the boot menu comes up. When it does select "Start in safe mode". If it starts up and you can see your desktop (it might look a little bloated), then you just need to update your video card driver because it somehow got corrupted.

Computer locks up as soon as I click on anything

Try booting into safe mode. To do this, restart your computer, and before the logo comes up, repeatedly press f8 until a menu appears. Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode." From there you should be able to use your computer. Try running a virus scan before booting up normally again.

Hello,

Try this: Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE keys to bring up the task manager. Then go to File>New Task> Type explorer in the box and click ok. If this doesn't work. Then i think you would need to format your computer.

Best regards

Mac will not Start

There's a possibility that heat temperature affected your laptop, kindly check beneath your laptop area if the installed cooling fan (which help regulate heat of the processor) is still in working condition, otherwise I suggest to replace it as well as purchase additional notebook cooling pad to be placed underneath your laptop so as to have enough cooling temperature. regards

CANNOT WATCH MY EPISODES ON ABC

You can try two things here:
1. Run windows update to make sure you have all the latest updates for Internet Explorer.
2. Download Mozilla Firefox from www.mozilla.com and see if that browser will play them. I had a computer once with Vista that would not play Youtube videos at all, no matter what I did, but I downloaded Firefox and it works perfectly. Vista can be strange sometimes. Good luck.

Screen wont light up

Try booting up with your OS disk in (ie. your windows vista disk), this will bootup your computer with basic drivers installed. If your screen shows anything, then there is a driver issue, if not its a hardware issue and most likely will have to be replaced.
