SOURCE: how to auto tear paper after printing receipt is completed.

I had the same problem, and after going through so many articles, I was getting the message but didn't know how to pass the escape codes. All you need to do is pass the ASCII code of the characters needed preceded by the ASCII code for Escape. In Delphi, we use Char(27) or #27. In my case I used ESC 105 Null and it worked. Here is my sample code, with Str being a TStrings class (A string array object) and the WriteTextFile being a procedure to write the Strings to LPT1 as plain text. Str.Add('*********END**********'); Str.Add(''); Str.Add(#10); Str.Add(#10); Str.Add(#27#105); WriteTextFile(dmMain.LPTFile, Str); any questions, holla me at gachugu@yahoo.com or igachugu@gmail.com

SOURCE: Auto cutter does not cut automatically

TM 220a and TM 220b should come with auto cutters
You have to unscrew the metal tab under the printer, you will find two sets of DIP switches. upper one is DWS 1 and the lower one is DWS 2. On DWS 2 you need to have jumper #2 ON. this enables or activates the auto cutter on printers. Good luck...

SOURCE: TM-T88III print speeds and other issues

Try setting both switch 1-7 and 1-8 to ON for 38400 baud, set switch 1-2 to OFF to give a 4k buffer, set switch 2-5 to OFF to release the busy buffer at 256 bytes, set switches 2-3 and 2-4 to ON & OFF for medium print density and OFF & ON for dark print density or OFF & OFF for normal print density.

Also remember that the thermal TM-T88III also prints faster when the print head is cooler and slower when it heats up. The print speed is adjusted automatically depending on the voltage applied and head temperature. So make sure your power supply is providing a steady 24VDC at full load and has enough capacity to provide a peak of 7.7A in full speed mode. If you are using the printer in high temp and humidity you might want to swap the unit out for a Star Printer which performs faster and uses the same protocol or use a cooling fan.

Also make sure you use a good quality paper and that the humidity is within range at 10 – 90% RH although the paper performance will be greatly diminished at higher humidity levels.

Specifications:

High-speed = Approx. 150 mm/s {5.9"/s} max.; 47.2 lps, max. (3.18 mm {1/8"} feed);
35.5 lps, max. (4.23 mm {1/6"} feed, at 24 V, 28°C {82°F}, density level 1).

Low-power: Approx. 16.5 lps (4.23 mm feed {1/6"}); 70 mm/s {2.76"/s}
Ladder bar code: Approx. 42 mm/s {approx. 1.7"/s}

High-speed mode: Mean: Approx. 1.8A Peak: Approximately 7.7A @24VDC
Low-power mode: Mean: Approx. 1.2A Peak: Approximately 6.6A @ 24VDC

Operating temp = 5 to 45°C {41 to 113°F}
Operating Humidity = 10% - 90% RH

SOURCE: In installing an old Epson T88III receipt printer

Hi

Ignore the message to install the Epson TM-2.01 and proceed to install the correct driver for your Epson T88III.

Just set up or add the correct printer driver and make you choose USB port connection not parallel port. Then try to print the test paper and if prints, then you are properly configure your printer.

If not, you have to configure the correct driver and the correct PORT connection to your printer.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Does epson tm-t88iiip have a ribbon

No. thermal printers do not use ribbons or ink cartridges. They have thermal heads that heat up and use that heat to print on the specially treated, heat sensitive paper rolls. If the printer has stopped printing, check to see if the paper is thermal and loaded correctly (shiny side facing the front when it feeds).

This sounds like its a problem with your EPOS software rather than the printer - contact your EPOS provider.

Espon TM-T88III Not Feeding or Printing

Does it have a manual insert for the paper?
If it does, try putting the paper in that.
If not, or if that doesn't work, I recommend trying to reinstall the printer and drivers.

If that also doesn't solve your problem, please post back.
