Question about Maytag PYE2300AY Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Maytag electric dryer won't start

Dryer worked, went to restart and it would not do anything. I can hear the timer still ticking, checked the fuse, the drum will turn manually. How do you check the door switch or what else can I try?

ok, I took off the top and i have the back of the timer, the chime box, and three little 1x1 black boxes, and another black box that looks like the chime. Am I in the wrong place, I don't see anything round except the timer?

Maytag Performa Electric dryer. Went to put in load and start-would not turn on. Checked breaker first. Then listed and I could hear the timer clickin on the front panel.Front door panel was full of lint....

In-laws machine did exactly the same thing. Check the thermal fuse.

Turn off the breaker.
Pop the top open with a flat screwdriver (there are two clips at the front)
There are two white wires on the right-side of the burner element, this is the thermal fuse (wires are kinda awkward to remove)

I jumpered these to wires and it started right up.

My dryer was working just fine this morning and tonight we went to dry some clothes and it is doing nothing, I can hear the timer ticking so it is getting power, but it is not doing anything else.

I would ck the plastic door switch than ck the small white thermal fuse in back of dryer behind the large panel. You'll have to remove about 9 1/4 hex head screws to access.
