Hoover Savvy has limited suction when cleaning the floor and carpet

I seem to have full suction thru the hose but limited to none when cleaning the floors. The brushes seem to be spining on carpet mode but has a high pitch sound and doesn't pick up. The canister, filters and brushes are clean. When I turn on the carpet mode, it almost seems that the suction is in reverse. Dirst comes out of the bottom. Please help me.

With the unit standing upright, double check the clear plastic air passages on the sides of the vacumn to see if they are clogged.

If those passages, bag, hoses, everything else is clear as well, what else could be making the suction go almost in reverse when on carpet?

No suction means somewhere in the intake side of the system you have either a blockage or an air leak.

Hi troupdavid,

I see that your Vacuum is having issues with it suction, you mentioned that you took it a part to clean it, see steps below.

  • Check if everything is inserted properly and is in place.
  • make sure the the Vacuum airflow does not have anywhere else to come out from, cause if there is, the vacuum suction will really not be really getting enough suction to be able to get dirt Off the floor.
  • Make sure the bag is correctly placed in the Vacuum and is tucked in properly for proper suction.
  • The hose should be twisted to be locked into Place, either clock wise or counter clockwise which ever makes it lock to the hose socket.
  • Also check the agitator shield beneath making sure that the Belt is not pinched in or squished by the Agitator and the Agitator shield, this can also cause lack of suction for the Vacuum.
I hope that this will be of help regarding your query.

Have a nice day,

Is there a switch to turn-off the tools so that

On the Hoover U6311-900 there is no switch that turns off the suction to the tool hose. That hose is attached to the head of the vacuum on the side via a spring loaded "door". Just twist the hose to remove it, the door will close and you will have full suction again.

Help

as the hose fits into the base (if i am correct) the power at the base should be fine, make sure the base is clean and free from blockage, you say the brush doesn't spin, has the belt broken, if so replace it, (very cheap) and only a couple of screws to undo, the roller not rotating will effect the power of suction dramatically, start from there and see how you go if i have helped please rate me
