Why do overhead wires hang with a slight sag in the summertime but tightly in the wintertime?

Donna, your mechanic is both right and wrong. The heater for pretty much all cars comes from the hot coolant running through a heat exchanger (core) under your dash. This is the same coolant that runs through your radiator. Yours sprung a leak in the heater core under the dash - ergo, coolant in the pax floor and none in your radiator. Using a hose to bypass the heater core is a cheap way to avoid a very expensive repair. The downside is that you will have no heat for the car or to blow warm air on the windshield to remove "fog" - a safety issue. This is also a dumb idea if you live where winters are frigid. In summertime, what your mechanic suggested is a reasonable, temporary fix. In the wintertime, not so much.

The volume control on your radio is called a potentiometer, which may be going bad. It works better when its warm because materials expand as they warm up and make tighter contact with each other.

It is also a possible a bad wiring connection exists. Poor contact will cause static, poor audio quality and intermittent output.

Your radio will have plug type connector(s) Your speakers will most likely each have two wires with single female spade connectors of different widths (keeps the polarity correct) the wire with the stripe (of whatever color) will be connected to the negative (-) speaker terminal.

So you need to check all the connections, one is making poor contact.
If both speakers (assuming you have two) sound good or bad... then start with the plug connectors for the radio and any independent black ground wire coming out of the radio.

If one speakers sounds okay check the connections on the other one. You check the connections by carefully pulling the speaker wire off of the speaker and then carefully pushing it back on making sure it feels tight and secure.

PS: If you pull the fuse for the radio, the radio will have no power and will not work. The radio coming on proves the fuse is good.

PSS: Your owners manual should provide lots of information on your sound system components.

It is your e-brake cable. e-brakes are mechanical, not hydraulic, therefore it has nothing to do with your master cylinder. adjust the cable at the e-brake itself or re-hang the cable to its rightful resting place.

Helo.....Sounds like you may need to have your CV joint assembly checked out.The CV joint is equivalent to the old drive shaft and universal joint...Have the CV joint checked and let me know what happens...I hope this was helpful....PEACE....

not true. the car needs to run at a certain temperature for it to run properly, not too cold, or not too hot. what the thermostat does, is it closes off the water circulation to your engine when it is cold. once your car reaches its normal operating temperature, which is a little less then halfway between the two lines in your temperature gage, it opens up allowing coolant to flow from your radiator to engine and back, and let the coolant cool the engine. if the thermostat is not there, during the winter time, especially in very cold climate, your car takes much longer to get to normal operating temperature, and causing it not to run as efficiently as it should for much longer, leading to more problems in the long run. i hope this helps, and dont remover your thermostat. if you are concerned about it, they only cost 15 dollars at autozone. goodluck.

go to a friend or a bodyshop. get a bumper adjuster. it has a 3 to 4 foot handle on it, with a hook on the other end. you can easly bend a bumper where you want it...
