The cable line may be hot now because 110 volts has got to it----someone needs to check the coax from a known earth ground to see if hot----it can be any appliance connected to something with the coax attached---have it checked and be careful as this could be dangerous.

generally the procedure is the following:
- stop the engine
- take off any obstructing panels
- disconnect spark plug cables
- using a spark plug wrench, remove the old plugs
- install the new ones (see your manual for what sort of spark plugs you need)
- reconnect the cables
- start your engine

When I print, on the paper there is several blue verticle lines at the top of the paper and halfway down and some of the lines are broken. Thankyou Tom

Reset the Printer If there is static interference, or loose connections with the product, this can result in bands or lines in the copy, fax, or scan output. To resolve this issue, check the product connections and reset the product. Make sure the product is on, and then disconnect the power cord from the product.
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the product, and then disconnect it from the computer.
  2. Reconnect the USB cable to the computer, and then reconnect it securely to the product.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, and then reconnect it to the wall outlet.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the product.
  5. Press the Power button (c02062868.gif ) to turn on the product. If you have duplexer try to open it and clean the rollers of the printer and the duplexer. This usually happens if the rollers are dirty.

Battery drain, I just bought a new battery but for some reason it get drain if not plug into a tender. What could it be? Stater or regulator?

It could be most anything including the new battery. Odds are that it's not the battery but never rule that out. I've bought a lot of bad batteries before.

But, let's do it this way. Disconnect all the wires off both terminals of the battery and reconnect only the large cable that goes to your starter on the positive side. Now, find the wire that runs from your voltage regulator back towards your battery. On some bikes this wire connects directly to the battery and on others it connects to the starter terminal where the battery cable connects. Disconnect this wire and reconnect any wires that were on the connector with it. What you're doing is isolating the voltage regulator. Now, touch the negative battery post with the negative cable. Watch for a spark. If you see a spark, something else is draining your battery. Now there are certain things that run all the time on your bike such as the ECM needs power all the time, the clock, and maybe a few other things. But if there's a rather large spark, it's probably something else. Also, if it's a large spark with the regulator disconnected, it's probably not the regulator.

Now, remove all the fuses from the fuse box. Remember what fuse goes where. Do the spark test again and notice the size of the spark. Start adding one fuse at the time and doing the test. When you put a fuse in that dramatically increases the size of the spark, your current load is more than likely on that circuit. You'll need a schematic to find out what is on that circuit.

If you don't like the "spark test" and want a more professional way of doing it, you'll need a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) that will measure at least ten amps. Wire the meter in series with the negative post of the battery and negative battery cable. If the meter reads a negative number, reverse the lead connections.

Good luck

  2. Remove the air intake hose assembly.
  3. Remove the accelerator cable bracket.
  4. Remove the six bolts and coil cover from cylinder head cover.
  5. Remove the four bolts and the two coils from the cover.
  6. Disconnect the high tension leads from the spark plugs by twisting the boot and removing.
  7. Use compressed air to remove any dirt from around the spark plug hole.
  8. Make sure the spark plug socket fits squarely on the spark plug, and then remove.
To install:
  1. Be sure the spark plug gap is set to 0.039-0.043 in. (0.98-1.09mm).
  2. Apply anti-seize compound to the spark plug threads.
  3. Carefully install the spark plug into the cylinder head and torque to 11-17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
  4. Reconnect high tension leads.
  5. Install the two ignition coils and torque four mounting bolts to 14-19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm).
  6. Install the coil cover and secure with six bolts
  7. Install the accelerator cable bracket.
  8. Reconnect the air intake hose assembly.
  9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Where are the spark plugs

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Spark plug socket
  • Socket wrench with extender
  • Anti-seize compound
  • New spark plug
  • Tension tester tool
  1. Step 1 Raise the hood and locate the battery. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Allow the engine to cool before attempting this process. Depending on the climate, it may take 30 minutes or more to cool the engine.
  2. Step 2 Find the spark plug cables on the Kia Spectra engine of either a four- or six-cylinder variety. The number of cylinders indicates the number of spark plug cables on the engine.
  3. Step 3 Turn the cables by the boot, or cover, that connects to the engine or directly to the spark plug. Disconnect one cable and complete the replacement process before removing the other cables to ensure the cables don't cross. Pull back on the cable to reveal the spark plug.
  4. Step 4 Remove the spark plug from the cylinder well with the socket. The extender may not be needed for 4-cylinder engines. Turn the socket in a counter-clockwise motion to unscrew the plug and remove it from the cylinder block.
  5. Step 5 Use the applicator supplied with the anti-seize to spread the compound over the threads of the new spark plug. This compound allows for easy removal when you need to check or replace the spark plugs.
  6. Step 6 Screw the spark plug into the cylinder well by hand. The spark plug needs to be tight in the well but may have to be loosened after the tension test finishes.
  7. Step 7 Test the torque of the spark plug with the tension tester tool. Normally the spark plugs on a Kia Spectra need 18 to 22 ft-lbs torque. Check the Spectra model's owner's manual or the manufacturer's package because some premium or performance spark plugs use different torques.
  8. Step 8 Reconnect the spark plug wire and turn it to lock it in place. Continue replacing the rest of the spark plugs. Reconnect the battery cable after you replace all the spark plugs.

INSPECTION

1. Disconnect high-tension code from spark plug.
2. Remove the spark plug.
3. Connect the spark plug to a high tension code.
4. Hold the spark plug with insulated pliers 5~10mm from a ground.
5. Crank the engine and verify that there is a strong blue spark.
If there is no spark, inspect the following points.

Step Inspection Action

1 Check for good connection of ignition coil Yes Go to next stop.
No Repair or replace
2 Check if resistance of high-tension leads are OK Yes Go to next step.
No Replace
3 Check if the ignition coil is electrically charged
1) Ignition switch "ON"
2) Check if the engine coil (+) is electrically charged
Yes Go to next step
No Check the wire harness between ignition switch ignition coil and ECM
4 Check if resistance of ignition coil is OK
Resistance
Primary : 0.36~0.44Ω (at 68°F (20°C))
Secondary : 10.9~13.3kΩ (at 68°F (20°C)) Yes Go to next step
No Replace
5 Check if ECM is OK Yes
No Replace

REMOVAL

Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plug if engine is hot.
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Carefully remove high-tension leads.

check spark plugs.
with the engine running (idle)
disconnect one spark plug cable,
see if your engine goes at lower speed or notice engine speed variation.
if it does, the spark plug is OK. it no change, the spark plug is bad.
reconnect the first one then disconnect the next plug.
do this untill at the last spark plug connection.
