Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
I have Win XP, with SP 2 installed. The download for SP 3 locks up on that beethov9 **** (and it does so with a lot of other people's Win XP system as well). . Is there no solution for a "newbie" like me--a solution that that does not require being an experienced geek? I have not installed SP 3, so can I continue without it? I cannot seem to get any Windows updates now, because it keeps hounding me to install SP 3?
Why in the world doesn't MS correct their problem with SP 3? I don't want to switch to a Mac, but I can only take so much of this haughty, corporate arrogance!!
Beethoven 9 is not part of the service pack. Go to microsoft and download the service pack as is. If you don't have a fully registeredwindows program, you will have problems until you register it. I've downloaded all service packs and updates for the past 7 years on different levels of windows without any problems. You must have them registered to prove you have an authentic purchased program, not something copied from someone elses setup disks.
