Have you check the power supply,that's what it seems to me.

tv worked great, turned it off one day and back on the next and the on light would not come on nor would the tv work, rear projection 52 inch rca

Sounds like u might have a bad power supply

try to check the menu your the timer is on.if not resolder the main board of your tv.

this sound like your regulator is not working see if the set turns off in white senes if so replace it

This may denote a proble in either your switching powers supply or your Horizontal section derived high voltage power supply. These are both very dangerous sections in your television. My next question is important; do you have a background in electronics? If not I would not advise you working on this problem yourself and that you take the TV to a repair shop for servicing. If you do have some background in electronics, I would like for you to make the following obeservations: What was the TV doing (it actions)prior to it going out? Did you hear any sounds before it went out like buzzing or crackling? What do you hear when you try to turn it on now, clicking? no kidding? what is the problem so prevelant in this unit? obvious design flaw.
