Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.

my issue was similar to solution two. It seemed to be a sticking switch attached to the power button assembly. After trying to oil it etc with no change, I eventually just disconnected the clear hose that attaches to the white pressure sensor which is on the power button assembly. Works like a charm now but I will need to be careful willmy next full bag or if I get a clog as the engine with just keep trying to ****. Much better than tossing out the vacuum if you can't find a needed switch assembly .
